History: This Cobra Jet was personally ordered by the owner of the Ford dealership in Longueuil, Quebec a small town outside Montreal Canada. It was produced on September 18, 1968. It remained in his personal collection until 2004. He sold the car to his friend Luc Venne, owner of Venne Ford in Montreal. Mr. Venne did a three year complete rotisserie restoration to show quality standards. He drove the car sparingly for the next year. In 2008, Mr. Venne sold the car to Mr. John Scotti. Mr. Scotti is the owner of John Scotti Classic Cars, Antique Automobiles in the Montreal area. He is one of the largest classic car collector/dealers in Canada and only collects high end automobiles. See John Scotti Classic Cars.com. Mr. Scotti had this car in his collection until 2014. In May of 2014 he took this Silver Jade mustang along with 450 other classic cars from his collection to the Auctions America Spring Auction in Auburn Indiana. The mustang was a feature car at the auction and pictured in the official program. It was sold to a private collector from Cincinnati, Ohio. He maintained the car in perfect condition, only changing the Magnum 500 rims back to the stock steel wheels and GT hub caps it has today. He sold the car in Aug. 2016 to me and has been in my collection ever since.
As per the Elite Marti Report there were 131,819 fastbacks produced in 1969. Of them only 4,085 came with the GT Equipment Group. From there the numbers drop significantly on this 1969 GT R Code Cobra Jet mustang. A true 1 of 1 with 16,984 documented miles.
