For your consideration is a nice, original, two owner, Wind Blue 1973 Ford F100 Ranger XLT short bed with blue interior! This truck is equipped with a 302 V8 and 3speed manual transmission! It has manual steering and brakes and an original AM/FM radio! It even has a period correct 8 track player under the dash!
I am the second owner of this truck, it was sold new by Bob Dunn Ford in Greensboro, NC. It spent its life in Greensboro until I purchased it in Sept. 2017. I have the original window sticker, owners manual, and sales order! The final selling price was 3,126.03 and was sold on 3-23-1973! The original owner took great care of the truck, maintenance was performed regularly and the oil changed every 3000 miles or less. It has 110,246 miles on it as of 7-7-2018.
The truck had been parked under a carport for 10 years when I purchased it. I installed a new gas tank and fuel pump, cleaned the line and rebuilt the carburetor. It has had a tune up and the fluids changed. The 302 runs and sounds great! The 3spd on the column shifts great as well!
I have installed the 18” wheels and new tires, they have less than 100 miles on them. The original paint was very thin and had a nice layer of surface rust on it. It has been sanded and painted with 3 coats of PPG production clear! The truck has an awesome Patina that is preserved under the clear! The trim was removed, cleaned, and reinstalled after clearing! All glass is good and all lights work. The original interior is very presentable, The dash is nice and the pad is not cracked! Door panels are good. The seat has some splits in the upholstery on the drivers side, the carpet is faded and the headliner is starting to sag.
The truck has some rust above the rear wheel wells and a dent in the tailgate. There is a small amount of rust in the bed floor above the gas tank. The original owner had a steel diamond plate welded in the bed floor. I installed the rubber floor mat. The frame is nice and the floor pans are solid as well!
I have not driven the truck very much, It runs and drives great as is. The truck is a 45 year old truck, I can’t guarantee it for a long trip. The brakes have not been replaced, they stop the truck but the pedal is soft.
This is a nice, original truck in a great color combination that has a known history since new! It has great patina that has been preserved until a future owner choses to restore the truck! I have tried give a thorough description of the truck, both good and bad. Please ask any questions and inspect the truck if you live close!
