1980 Ford Mustang base Description
I bought this car not running from a garage, where it has been since 1997. The problem was a crossthreaded oil filter mount insert, so it leaked oil from the oil filter mount bad. I took this insert out and replaced it, no more leak. The problem was rust from sitting. I replaced the copper radiator with the same, but new, changed the exhaust, and cleaned the fuel system, and installed an electric fuel pump. The brakes were not right, so I changed the rotors pads and shoes. The rotors are the complete front hub and bearings, so I packed new front bearings and installed with new seals. The headliner was a plastic/vinyl piece over foam, and was hanging down, so I replaced the headliner. I unhooked the heater core, so it needs a new one. No air conditioning from the factory, so if you want heat it is not terribly hard to change, and 23.00 at rockauto. The miles are verifiable with the existing paperwork with the car. I have not lisenced or driven this car on the road, but it runs very nice, and should be able to drive as is, but if going a long distance, I would trailer it, to be sure. This vehicle is sold as is, with the guarantee that it has 50.034 miles and is not rusted out, no ticks or knocks in the motor, trans works as should, does not leak fluids, but it is old.
