1965 Ford Mustang GT w/Pony Interior Description

I am selling my 1965 Mustang GT A-Code/225 HP that is loaded with numerous factory and dealer options (please see photo of original invoice). It's equipped with a factory drivetrain289 4vmated to itsdesirable4-speed manual transmission. The car has the following Factory options: GT Equipment Group; Power Steering; Interior Decor Group w/Pony Interior; Fordair Air Conditioning (blows cold); Center Console (which has been rebuilt with wood veneer inlays, not vinyl decals); Visibility Group; Padded Visors; Back-Up Lamps (option on '65); Rally-Pac with rebuilt clock and tachometer; Studio Sonic Sound System w/Rear Speaker (Ford's version of a reverberator and sounds great); Tinted Glass; AM Radio; Dual Red Band Tires (which are in excellent condition).Dealer installed options include: Chrome Air Cleaner; Chrome Scuff Plates; Cobra Valve Covers; Compass (non-operational); Spinner Wheel Covers were replaced with Rally Wheels (all innew condition); Luggage Rack; Spotlight; Passenger Rear View Mirror; Pony Floor Mats. A correct NOS Unity spotlight (with bracket and mounting instructions) is included in the sale for the next purchaser to install at their discretion. This spotlight, which is in new condition and has the correct Mustang shaft length, was provided by a retired Unity employee after a four-year search.

The transmissionhas been rebuilt with the assistance of Medatronics Corp. in Fl. When the transmission was out, the flywheel was resurfaced and a new clutch installed. The shifterwas rebuilt by Vintage Ford Manual Shifters and the clutch/brake pedal support was rebuilt by Mustang Steve with new bearings and a new pedal shaft. The master brake cylinder has been replaced along with new rear brakes and brake pistons. The individual who I purchased the car from advised that the engine had been rebuilt by the previous owner; however, he did not have any details regarding it. The car is in great shape with no dents or scratches; it is rust free. The engine bay and undercarriage are exceptionally clean. It has never seen rain or a hose; and, it has always been stored in a climate-controlled garage.

All gauges, lights, blinkers, electrical/mechanical - everything- works as it should. Every light bulb has been checked; all blue light diffusers in the dash and Rally-Pac have been replaced. Even small details have not been overlooked. The headlights have been replaced with the correct "2" headlamps, not the "2D1"; and the wiper blades are Trico. Even the horns have been restored. Theradio and its buttons operate fine. The car has tags on the carburetor, engine, and steering box along with a "Buck Tag"since this car came out of the Metuchen, NJ plant. All tire changing equipment, to include the dual red band spare tire, is included.

The car starts right up; it runs and sounds great. The only thing that I'm aware of is that I noticed a few drops of oil at the upper rear center of the engine after driving it last year. I had a mechanic look at it and he advised that it was either the oil pan gasket or the two-piece rear seal needing replacement; definitely nothing serious.

I have the original window sticker;dealer invoice;bill of sale;dealer receipt; title; route tag; and, two build sheets. The true mileage of the car is unknown. The car has won numerous awards (see picture); it will come with the 1992 award in which the car placed 2nd at the Mustang Club of America's Grand National in Atlanta, GA. The reason I'm selling the car is to assist my two teenage sons with their college expenses. If you purchase the car and need to arrange for transportation, I will gladly store it in my garage for a reasonable amount of time until your transportation is arranged. I welcome inspections and would be flexible to accommodate any you arrange.
