Up for sale is this beautiful rust-free 1963 Ford Falcon Convertible.
I have extensively restored the engine, steering column,fuel/brake/exhaust system, soft-top and the interior back to original. It is bound to be one of the nicest Falcons inexistence, and it's a convertible!! It is a rarefactory260 V8 cyl. with a 2 speed auto transmission.
I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle. The car was bought new in Florida where it remained garaged and pampered. I do have the original bill of sale and owners manual all from 1963. It accumulated the majority of it's mileage in Florida. The car was later shipped to Livermore where it mainly sat in a garage until I came alongandbought it in late 2011which is when the restoration began. My intention was to bring the car back to life and make it safe to drive as a daily driver without doing a 100% restoration. I do like the patina of the exterior and do not like things too shiny outside the car.....for this reason, I never felt the need to paint the car. The car has always been garage kept and never exposed to bad weather. I did convert the generator to alternator and added an overflow tank for the radiator (too keep things clean). While the radio looks original, I have converted the guts to a AM/FM/Ipod jack for some cool sounds...from the outside, the dash is 100% stock.
All weatherstripping was replaced along with window felts so to minimize cab noise as much as possible. With the exception of the fuel pump, oil filter, and fuel tank, the car is completely all original FoMoCo parts. . The odometer has less than 5k miles on the engine restoration. The car makes you feel like you have just pulled off a Ford dealer's lot in 1963, a true time capsule and drives like brand, brand new.....it's really what I was shooting for when I restored the drive train.
As a part of the restoration (which completed in 2014) the following items were replaced to insure the new owners will have a perfect running car:
New gas tank and sending unit
Engine and Transmission re-build
steering column refurbishment
NOS brake master cylinder, new wheel cylinders and rubber hoses
Carburetor rebuilt and NEW fuel pump
NOS ignition points, cap rotor, and condenser
Heater boxdisassembled, painted and re-foamed (does not rattle and works perfect)
Cooling system flushed, radiator re cored, NEW hoses, NOS clamps and thermostat
New white walls ($1k)
powder coated 13 inch rimswith spoke hubcaps....I'll throw in 14 inch rims with 14 inch spoke hubcaps
New soft top
too many things to mention but you get the point......
All the glass is original and perfect. The convertible top is PERFECT and operates flawlessly auto top motor runs perfectly. The plastic rear backlite (rear window) is perfect, it is not faded like most all are after a mere few years. The chrome and stainless are all very fine. All the original wiring is great. Under the dash literally looks like a brand new car! The radio works beautifully as well as everything else on the car. There is NO rust on this car and I hope you can see from the pictures how clean the undercarriage is......it's clearly a well preserved car. Again, the car was never exposed to the elements.
The engine starts right up sounds great with no smoke. Transmission shifts great and I can take the car comfortable to 100mph and cruises soooooo smooth. As I mentioned, itdrives like new.
The underside and body has ZERO rust (albeit 1 rust bubble see photo) and you will never find one any more solid. The underside is really the cleanest I've ever seen.
See below for MANY additional pictures. I believe the pictures speak for themselves. This would be the perfect car for a summer family cruise car, or a show car all the same. Again I would highly suspect this is likely one of the most original best Falcon Convertibles inexistence that could be a perfect driver. The car amazes me every time I sit in it, as it looks and feels and nearly is as close to a brand new original condition falcon as you will ever see.
