Well here is the chance to own a one of a kind to the best of my knowledge Roadster. I personally hand built this roadster all of it I have been building and restoring wood boats for over 30 years. I started with a 1928 Model A frame, Cut and Zeed the rear end and dropped it 2". Completely rebuilt the front end. Classic hot rod style custom wish bones installed. The steering box is out of a 1950 Chris Craft built by Gemmer.1949 flathead V-8 it is running with Offenhuuser head and dual carbOffy intake.the trans is a 1936 3 speed that is completely new followed by new clutch Ect. back to a rebuilt Banjo rear. New gauge set with cloth braided wiring thru out. 12 gallon fuel cell in the rear under the inverted trunk cover. Late model front shocks as well as some custom work to make the rear stock oil shocks fit and work. 1934 16" wheels 750/16 rears and 450/475/16 on the front. Also I have and after market steering stabilizer installed. Brakes are manual all new wanted to stay period correct.
As for the body it is made of all wood in traditional wood boat construction with todays modern adhesives and glues. The body is solid Mahogany, The planks were re-sawed from 5/4 planking and sistered meaning that the top plank on each side is the same piece of wood and so on. The deck works from the center board out left and right to the out side planks are the same cut of wood. The planks are set with 3-M 5200 and screwed with SS screws and Bunged sanded and finished. The car has 10 coats of hand brushed marine Ephiphanes Varnish. The wind shield is a vintage marine style or bomber style the brackets are made of Mahogany sanded filled and painted with mirror paint to support a brushed stainless look. The doors are built with original 28-29 door locks and stops and leather door stop straps. The rear hatch has marine style SS trim and traditional boat deck lines dine in black leading down to Zephyr lights. Classic vintage chevron style rear hatch handle with dual hatch pumps installed for lift, and 1 1/2 " brushed stainless rear bumper. The radiator shell has been hand painted by somewhat famous artist who will remain unknome in a Mahogany Burl style to look like its is wood. Also a original 1932 horn rebuilt.
Note: The car was in Nov issue of Hot Rod deluxe page 11 a little write up
So why am I selling it I am all about the project this was a cool one ready to move on to the next. I feel this is so different than any thing else out there outside the box as they say people who see it go nuts over it. Also it drives awesome not a bad ride for an old Hot Rod.
