We have just completed the restoration of this beautiful 65 Mustang convertible. It’s sporting a 289 V-8 with headers, a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, Demon 4 barrel carburetor, Pertronix ignition and a Flame Thrower coil. A four speed automatic overdrive transmission from a 1989 Crown Victoria has replaced the original C-4 automatic for comfortable highway cruising at speeds. The color is Rangoon Red that Ford offered in 1965, newly painted with 2 stage paint, cut and buffed to a beautiful high gloss. A black power top, power steering and a black interior with a center console adds to this awesome color combination.
Some of the additions to make this a unique convertible are the GT driving lights, black GT stripe and a new dual exhaust system with GT trumpets. New BF Goodrich radial T/As, 205/60/14s on front and 235/60/14s on rear are mounted on period correct American Racing 14 X 7 Daisy wheels that were so popular back in the day and they do look awesome.
The car is a real head turner where ever you go and gets tons of attention at any car show. This is the perfect car to take out on a summer evening for a cruise down town to get a burger and a milk shake at that favorite drive in! You will feel like you have transported yourself back in time to 1965.
