1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, Fully Customized with Eleanor Kit!
1965 Ford Mustang Convertible, Custom Description
This 1965 Custom Ford Mustang was built by our company, GT Graphics and Customs, Inc. to showcase our work. After every panel, nut, and bolt was sandblasted, a rotisserie restoration was performed with an abundant amount of customization. Its lines were sharpened, every gap was perfected, many modifications were made, and the custom paint work contains a lot of pearl and flake. It is meant to be seen and appreciated.
Here are the specs:
Engine:
This Mustang has a custom built 302 Engine built by Dan Cansler Racing Engines in Sylva, North Carolina. Dan has been in the business of building engines for decades. He is well-known in the professional racing industry. Along with the engine is a 600 Holly Carburetor, an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, an MSD Billet Distributor, polished valve covers and wrapped long tube headers, an aluminum four core radiator, a chrome master cylinder and chrome brake booster, all enclosed in the clean, custom painted and modified engine bay. An airbrushed cobra is painted under the hood and the Mustangs To Fear hinges prop up the hood nicely to reveal the customizations. The long tube headers are attached to two stainless steel 2 1/2" side exhaust system that helps provide the nice, choppy rumble.
Drivetrain/Suspension:
At the bottom of this Mustang, a freshly restored undercarriage is coated with Raptor Liner that is tinted to match the body color. This liner was applied to not only the undercarriage, but inside the wheel wells, inside the fenders, quarter panels, trunk, and inside the floor pan for that added protection against rust and sound deadening purposes. There is a C4 Automatic Monster Transmission Built for 500 HP, a 2300-2500 Stall Torque Converter, a 9" Rear End and 350 Gear/28 Spline Axles. The suspension has Urethane Bushings for performance and handling. It has front and back sway bars. It has a Borgeson Steering box and has been lowered two inches for those tight turns.
The brakes are Wilwood 4-wheel Disc Brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. The red Wilwood Calipers are seen through the custom billet Budnik Wheels from Huntington Beach, California. The front Wheels are 17" and the back wheels are 18" surrounded with low profile Nitto tires.
Interior:
Not only is the floor pan coated with Raptor Liner, but a Hush Mat was installed for that quiet ride. The custom interior, by Faith Kustoms Upholstery in Franklin, North Carolina, is complete with a custom console, door panels, altered seats with our "GT" logo on the front seats and handmade billet door pulls and brackets. The dash was painted the outside body color and a custom dash cover was installed.
The cockpit includes a polished Ididit steering column and a Billet Specialties steering wheel. It has an Autometer dash cluster, and the Vintage Air system blows both hot and cold air efficiently. A stereo system was installed complete with Bluetooth as well as a SiriusXM auto kit.
The trunk has been customized and includes a video screen that displays photographs from the entire build.
Exterior:
This Mustang is the first...and, perhaps the "only" 1965 Mustang that has a true and complete Eleanor Kit installed. This Eleanor kit is unmatched by any other and is produced by Mustangs To Fear in Rochester, Indiana. This kit includes the hood, nose, fender flares, quarter panel flares, side skirts with cut-outs for the side exhaust, deck lid spoiler, quarter extensions, and rear bumper. The remaining panels are the original sheet metal.
Beginning with the front, this Mustang has Halo lights which have a variety of colors to choose from. It also has fog lights. It has billet upper and lower grills, also supplied by Mustangs To Fear. All the original chrome was re-chromed and the stainless was polished. The fenders had side vents cut in with billet inserts. There are also vents cut in on the top of each fender which contain turn signals.
The convertible top is motorized and is manufactured by Kee Auto Top Manufacturing Company in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is made of a top quality steadfast hot rod canvas complete with a vinyl boot to match.
We changed the location of the rear gas cap to the top corner of the left quarter panel. We recessed the quarter panel to accommodate this new position.
The rear lights are the 1967 Mustang sequential style, also provided by Mustangs To Fear.
This Mustang's custom paint was provided by BASF and we formulated it to resemble House of Kolor's Tangerine Kandy. Flake and Pearl was added to it to give it that "kandy" depth under a deep coat of clear. The custom striping and lettering is painted on and has pearl added as well, excluding the solid airbrushed fade on the hood. We chose to formulate the paint to be a base coat/clear coat to enable an easy repair if it is damaged in the future.
All door jams, hood and deck lid jams are as clean and detailed as the rest of this Mustang. No overspray or inferior bodywork was acceptable on any portion of this car.
