1979 Ford Mustang Ghia Notchback 5.O Description

Of the 347,000 1979 Mustangs sold, There were only a small number of Notchback Coupe's equipped with the 302 5.0 Liter engine. Estimates are only about 2000 cars, of which very few survive today.
This 1979 Ghia Notchback Coupe is one of those survivors Originally produced with the 5.0 and was daily driven until recently when it was hit in the driver's side quarter panel as reflected in the photos.
Mechanically the car is Excellent, with a low mileage rebuilt motor that runs strong and smooth. It has new hoses, belts and tensioner, radiator, new KYB gas struts/shocks and the required camber plates for alignment. New swaybar links and four new tires.
It has all four of the original Mustang Ghia wire hub caps.
The car was equipped with tilt wheel and cruise control and the great looking combo of White Vinyl interior over red carpeting.
Body wise the car is fair.Sold new in South Dakota there is rust and it's had a fair quality repaint in the original color of Bright Red.The hood and roof have a bunch of hail dings.Underneath it has good bones, the frame rails, structure, shock towers and gas tank filler neck areas are solid.The rear of the spare tire well has been patched and there is a little rust in the corners of the front floors.Overall, the car is solid though and could be put back to driver condition with a replacement quarter panel and trunk lid or restored to show quality with greater effort and a few additional replacement panels.
