*. * This 1968 Mustang Fastback was manufactured at the Ford Metuchen Plant in Edison New Jersey. This car was a complete restoration (inside & out) project in the early 90's. I will do my best to give you every detail about this Mustang. It has a rebuilt 289 V8 motor painted Ford blue, bored .030 over, oversized cam & 4-barrel Edelbrock. This motor was taken from a 1966 Mustang. I do still have the original 289 V8 that came with this car on an engine stand in storage (matching #'s).The winning bidder/new owner will have the option to take the original motor (not rebuilt). The original motor is the bidders responsibility to pick up, crate & ship if they chose to take it. This 1968 Mustang Fastback does not have the original title. The automatic transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit added. A 9" posi-rear was added with a new 3:73 gear chuck and custom dual exhaust with a GT valance and a new gas tank. This car runs super strong and has about 18k miles on the rebuilt motor. The body has all new front/rear fenders & new hood. This car is super clean, straight & strong. Headliner is original and in great shape. The paint is a clearcoat orginal Acapulco Ford blue and is over 25 years old. It has manual drum brakes, power steering and rear air shocks. This car runs great and was only driven on sunny days. Really sharp 68 Fastback that will only increase in value and has not been cloaned into a Bullitt or Eleanor. Not many left of this year Fastbacks that are this solid & clean. If you have any further questions please ask or text 860-309-3842 this is a beautiful car.
This Mustang is 50 years old and in excellent overall condition it does have some marks/chips in the paint and the dashboard is cracked in the middle. The interior is in excellent condition but it does have a rip in the rear seat (middle) & console area of the rug (see photo's). The heater/core does not work in this car which was only driven on warm sunny days. Please view all of the photos and contact me with any questions before bidding or text (860)-309-3842 if additional photos or videos are required.I have owned this car for 35 years and will tell you everything I know about this Fastback.
