1940 Ford Fire Truck FIRETRUCK nostalgic collector history piece parade - museum
1940 Ford Other Description
Up for sale with no reserve is a rare piece of nearly untouched history. This time capsule I've been told was the second fire engine used in by the city of Chester, California, and that most everything on it is original, including the paint, THE LOW 5,100 MILES, the drivetrain, and just about all of the accessories. The engine starts right up and runs as good as it did back in 1940, and you can see how clean and straight the body is from the pictures.
The only thing I know of that has been added to the engine for drive-ability reasons were the new battery and alternator. The tires are newer and have nearly full tread. This truck has only been driven a few times a year, mostly for parades and car shows. It's a time capsule! You'd be hard pressed to find something this complete that can still go down the road. It would be perfect for a museum, a collection, or even for advertising. Everyone of all ages smile when they see it.
It's relatively short at about 19 feet so you can park it in a driveway easily. The old siren still works and is loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood. The pump on the front even still works. Nothing is seized up, all the knobs, valves, and nozzles move freely. There's a bunch of extra nozzles for it, and lots of accessories in the different compartments. The old ladder and bells should be in a museum! The axes are not original.
This truck has a clear title and historical plates. Please message me with and questions and feel free to come see the truck in person. Vehicle is located in San Clemente, California.
