1969 Ford Bronco Sport with Rare Stroppe Baja Options Excellent Condition
1969 Ford Bronco Sport Description
Up for auction is a very nice un-restored 1969 Ford Bronco Sport nicely equipped with factory options andwhat appear to be dealer installed Stroppe Racing Baja options. The factory options are shown on pictured Marti report. Purchased from family whom purchased it in 1972 and has always been garage kept and lifelong in Colorado until a year ago. All original drivetrain and runs and drives great. Color was changed from Pebble Beige early on and possibly when new since family members did not remember it ever being any different color. Repaint is older and has some chips scratches etc. but is very presentable. Small dents on lower grille from bumper being bent back hitting it. Only rust I am finding is the typical area on fender skirts but rest of body is very nice with no indications of any prior repairs. The floors are immaculate also.
Stroppe Racing Kit Options: The Bronco has several options which appear to be Stroppe Racing Baja Kit accessories installed by Ford dealer. They are: Dual front shocks, rear fender flares, 15X8.5 white steel wheels, roll bar, power steering, Autometer tachometer and dual antennas(passenger mast lost by transporter).
Body: The body is very nice and older repaint which is very presentable. No signs of any rust repair and all body panels appear to be original. Dents on both sides of lower grille caused by bumper being bent back which is pictured. Both bumpers have been replaced with new ones. The only rust I have found is the typical rust on inner fender skirts which is pictured. The undercarriage is original with no rust. The original floor pans are immaculate with no rust.
Interior: The interior is in very nice condition. The seats have been recovered with correct parchment covers. The dash pad and headliner have also been replaced. The rest of interior is completely original including vinyl floor covering. All gauges function properly including interior lights. Has windshield wipers with dual electric motors which appear to be original.
Drivetrain: All original drivetrain. 302 V8 engine which has approximately 5,000 miles onsince rebuild per prior owners runs fantastic with plenty of power and great oil pressure. The 3-speed manual transmission works great along good clutch. The 4WD also functions properly. All original with exception of Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and Edelbrock/Weber carburetor which are great upgrades. Thedual exhaust sounds great also.
Wheels & Tires: 5 new Firestone 31X10.50X15 Mud Terrain tires mounted on slotted mags. Included are the 4 white 15X8.5 Stroppe steel wheels pictured which were on it when purchased. Changed the wheels due to the positive offset on steel wheels which caused tires to rub on front fender lip when turning with 31X10.50X15 tires. Did not rub with smaller tires.
The bronco runs and drives great and not aware of anymechanical issues. Have not taken any long trips in it but have not had any problems cruising around locally where it draws lots of attention.
