1972 Ford Mustang Description

Up for sale today is a 1972 Mustang Hardtop with a 302/351 engine (I didn't run the numbers, so I don't know for sure.) and automatic transmission. The engine has an upgraded intake manifold, the intake is a Weiand. I just stuck a battery and carburetor in the car and the engine started right up after sitting for years. I did move the car forward and backwards, but brakes seemed really soft. Please understand this car will need to be gone through completely before hitting the road, or to be a fix-while-you-restore or simply pull it apart and start a restoration. This car would make a great father/son or father/daughter project. THE ENGINE HAS NO CARBURATOR, OR BATTERY.

I bought this car about 4 years ago and stored it in my backyard in the desert of California, it was originally an Arizona car. I have now decided to sell the car due to me moving back east. I have inspected the body inside and out and have found no major damage or any signs of being wrecked. The floors look really good, the truck is very straight with no signs of the car being hit from the rear. The front aprons are straight with no signs of damage from any kind of wreck or rust.

The car looks like it has been repainted a couple times with a driver door replacement, unsure why it was changed but the A and B pillars look great on both sides. Both doors have not been cut for speakers. They both open and close fine with the exception that the driver door needs that plastic clip to hold the rod that attaches to the outside door handle installed. The driver door opens 100% of the time from the inside and only opens from the outside when you connect that rod. The parts to fix that are available from many classic Mustang parts houses. I did replace the hood when I bought it years ago and I do have the hood inserts that will go with it. The hood springs go past center, not sure why. So maybe they need replacing. The only issue I could see is two water spots on the roof that blistered under the paint.

On the interior it is missing the radio and the heater and air conditioning controls along with that plastic housing that covers them. The dash doesn't look like it has been cut and the control cables appear to still be connected on the heater/air conditioning box. The seats need to be redone along with the other interior soft parts.

I feel this car would make a great starter car for anybody looking to build one. It is complete with no obvious signs of any kind of major damage that I could find and the drive line is complete and it does start and move. So, repair or rebuild and restore and drive it.

Having a solid body is a great start for any car and out here in California for the most part bodies are solid and soft parts need to be replaced. The great part is that everything is available for the classic Mustang today.

The buyer will be responsible for all shipping costs. THE CAR IS ALSO SOLD AS IS!
