1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Coupe Rebuilt 8-Cyl 3--Spd Automatic RWD FLORIDA c84255
1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Coupe Description
1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Coupe. 8 Cylinder Gasoline Engine. 3-Speed Automatic Transmission. RWD. The previous owner rebuilt the 351C engine and added a mild camshaft along with a 4-barrel intake manifold and 750cfm carburetor. I am not sure how many miles are on the engine since the rebuild but the carb needs to be tuned. I am also not sure if it is the original engine. The engine does fire right up and idles great. The transmission was also rebuilt at that time as well and the transmissions shifts firmly and downshifts as it should. The previous owner also repainted the car from its original green to its current red color several years ago. It still looks great but there are some flaws and some rust starting to bubble up from under the paint in some places. I tried to take pictures of those spots to disclose everything up front. Overall it is still a solid car with no major rust, but at some point, some of the floor and possibly a small section of the quarter panel will probably be needed to be replaced when it is restored down the road. Keep in mind this is a 45-year-old car. It is a factory power steering, power front disc brake and air conditioning car. The air conditioning is not working but the entire system is still in place. I have not had time to trouble shoot the problem with it yet. It still has the factory style compressor on it. The previous owner replaced the battery, alternator and power steering pump. I still cannot get the windshield wipers to function despite replacing the wiper motor and switch. There is power to the motor and it may simply be a ground or mis-wiring issue as all the replacement motors do not use the original color-coded wires that match the factory. I have replaced almost all the interior components of the car with new reproduction parts mainly Ford original tooling pieces when I could find them. The original interior was an olive green which I changed to black. The front and rear seats were stripped, frames sanded and painted with new padding and upholstery installed. I upgraded the stereo system, including a new stereo system that is equipped with blue tooth and hands-free capability as well as USB fittings in the glovebox and ashtray in the center console. There is also a subwoofer in the trunk. The factory "idiot" style gauges on the left side of the dash have been replaced with a factory looking tachometer by Rocket Man Classic Cougar Innovations. The factory center console gauges have been replaced with aftermarket VDO gauges that I modified to fit in the factory bezel holes. Below is a list of the parts that I have replaced ($6,354.51. I have all the receipts):INTERIOR ($5,324.66)Black sail panels ($51.25)Steering column cover ($36.95)Shifter selector bezel w/dial & seal ($30.95)Seat adjusting knobs ($13.98)Seat bumper stops & screws ($25.98)Lloyds custom Mach 1 floor mats ($165.90)Black leather steering wheel ($112.54)Black powder coated steering wheel hub adaptor ($56.26)Tri-Bar logo steering wheel horn button ($26.19)Seat track to body bolts and nuts ($10.99)Seat pivot pin screws ($4.99)Seat hinge washers ($7.98)Seat pivot covers ($6.99)Pair chrome seat latch knobs w/screws ($20.70)Rear seat underlayment ($17.99)Mach 1 seat button w/retainer and clips ($35.98)TMI one-piece vinyl molded headliner ($238.18)Mach 1 black full upholstery set ($394.24)Seat belt anchor bolt cover ($13.29)Front seat belt mounting kit ($23.74)Front 3 point retractable seat belts w vintage push button ($209.94)Cigarette lighter knob ($16.19)Wiper switch knob ($16.19)Rear seat belts with push button ($62.98)Rear seat belt mounting kit (14.69)Cigarette lighter bezel ($25)Windshield wiper knob bezel ($36)Headlight knob bezel ($36)Package tray fabric ($15.18)Parking brake pedal pad ring ($12.99)Parking brake pedal pad ($8.99)Rear view mirror ($28.95)Kicker door speakers ($49.98)Kicker rear shelf speakers ($159.98)Retrosound Malibu radio ($299)Retrosound USB/Auxiliary extension cable ($29.99)Dynomat extreme roof sound deadener ($104.55)Instrument bezel lens ($69.99)2 speed wiper switch ($30.79)ACC Mach 1 black carpet with black inserts ($194.39)Factory style looking tachometer ($180)TMI sun visors ($55.05)Brake pedal ($14.99)Automatic shifter indicator ($8.06)Shifter bucket plug ($5.99)Automatic shifter dial light bulb ($4.99)Automatic shifter handle set screw ($3.99)Automatic shifter lever rebuild kit ($4.99)Automatic shifter handle chrome ($16.20)Door sill plate kit ($57.99)Headlight knob and shaft ($34.95)VDO Water temp gauge ($58.42)VDO Voltmeter gauge ($33.79)VDO Oil pressure gauge ($79.26)Rear package tray ($27.99)Door speaker grills ($38.24)Black center dash bezel w/gauge holes ($167.19)Black radio bezel ($70.49)Radio bezel screws ($4.89)Radio/heater bezel screws ($3.49)Center dash map light lens ($9.79)Arm rest base ($23.50)Arm rest pad pair ($33.40)Chrome door lock knobs ($5.56)Door lock knob grommets ($7.42)Interior door handles ($25.98)Door handle screws ($1.85)Window handles ($18.54)Window handle washers ($3.09)Armrest screws ($11.12)Door panel clips ($7.40)Standard door panels ($99.03)Short turn signal lever ($9.79)Black full center console assembly ($569.49)Center console to floor screws ($7.64)Sunvisor brackets & rods (30.72)Sunvisor center bracket ($14.44)Glovebox liner ($15.29)Black glovebox door ($71.39)Ford tooling black dashpad ($198.89)Dash pad screws ($8.49)Console clock lens ($42.49)Dome light bezel ($19.84)Dome light lens ($8.85)Door latch striker bolt set ($32.18)Door lock rod set ($51.78)Deluxe interior master interior fastener kit ($104.99)Passenger dash bezel w/o warning lamp ($69.99)Black front center console plate assembly ($156.74)Black instrument bezel ($77.24)EXTERIOR ($815.98)Door Handles ($50.39)Window molding clips ($11.98)Rear window weatherstrip ($44.99)Rear window molding clip ($13.99) Front spoiler screws ($19.99)Mach 1 honeycomb taillight panel ($81.69)Mach 1 honeycomb taillight panel trim ($96.89)Mach 1 grill emblem ($18.89)Front spoiler ($62.04)Tail light bezel/lens assembly pair ($187.68)Tail light housing assembly pair ($62.90)Tail light housing body seal pair ($24.60)Mach 1 flip open gas cap ($139.95)ENGINE COMPARTMENT ($213.87)Battery holddown clamp kit ($17.49)Battery cable set show quality ($58.99)Battery tray ($14.24)Battery tray mount kit ($6.99)Battery cable mounting hardware kit ($6.99)Starter solenoid ($25.19)2 speed windshield wiper motor ($77.99)Wiper motor to firewall seal ($5.99)The steering is a little loose which is typical for those cars but otherwise works great. The suspension could use new shocks and bushings and rides accordingly. A previous owner put towing shocks on the rear with slapper bars on the rear leaf springs. Again, it is a 45-year-old Mustang, so I would recommend rebuilding the suspension and upgrading some components. Otherwise I have driven this car from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando to car shows and on weekends to cruise around with no problems. The tires are new, but the wheels do show little age. I have polished them several times, but the pictures show the best shines they will achieve with some fade on the black pockets. I have disclosed all issues I know about the car. I am unsure of the actual mileage of the car as was the previous owner. The '73 is my favorite and I had hoped to keep this to restore. However, I need to sell it to raise money to buy a house. So, I am not looking to trade, so please do not ask. There is currently a lien on the vehicle that will have to be satisfied. I can help with delivery of the vehicle if needed within a reasonable distance. This 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is located in Davie, Florida. Please call 1-800-320-9557 and mention listing id: 136069.
