All original 985 Crown Vic Fire Department car with police package. Which includes an oversized radiator, transmission cooler, oil cooler, police interior dome lamp, certified calibration speedometer and whatever else came with the police package at the time (possibly larger brake rotors). There are still two fire dept lights hidden in the grill. If you use the Buy It Now option, I will throw in a vintage light bar that can mount on the roof.
I am the second owner, bought it from Closter NJ Fire Dept in 2003. They removed all of the lights and controllers before I bought it. I drove it for a few years (once across the country). It hasn't been on the road since 2006 but I would start it up every now and then and move it around my property. The main photo is when it was last on the road.
The engine has just under 100,000 miles but the rings are worn, probably due to it idling a lot on fire scenes. It does run and runs smooth but it takes a while to get it started. If you are shipping, you should assume that it cannot be driven.
The interior is in above average condition for it's age but don't expect it to be perfect. No major wear or rips in the seats.
The only other known issues are the driver side mirror is not original. It's a fixed mirror and it should be one that you can adjust. I have a replacement that will go with the car. Also, the hood release cable broke. I have a replacement for it that will go with the car.
The exterior is in very good condition for a vehicle of this age, especially since it came from New Jersey. It's been in the dry Nevada desert since 2003 so any rust that it had when I bought it hasn't gotten worse. The exterior has zero rust except for a few dings where the paint got chipped. The only rust is inside the trunk. The trunk lid does not leak and there are no leaks anywhere on the car. The paint is original metallic flake red and the top is painted an off white. The paint is faded but may buff up and look good. I did a test waxing on the hood and the color did improve.
The transmission is an AOD 3 speed with overdrive which shifts smooth. No issues with the driveshaft either. Tires are dry rotted but hold air.
I have a video of the engine running. If you want to see it, message me and I can text it to you.
This is a great candidate for a restoration. I simply don't have the time to dedicate to it. Clear title.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as it is also for sale locally.
