1973 Ford Bronco Automatic 2-Door 4x4 Restored and Uncut
1973 Ford Bronco Ranger Description
This 1973 Ford Bronco was sent to Sassy Motorsports, Inc. in Southern California for refurbishment. The work included new fender sheet metal, a repaint in military green, and installation of a 302ci V8 and Ford C4 3-speed automatic transmission. Further additions included a fiberglass hood, new window and door seals, and a reconditioned interior along with new fuel system, steering, braking, and suspension parts. This first-generation Bronco is offered with a soft top, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name. The Bronco was acquired with cut fenders, a lift kit, and oversize tires among other non-original items. New sheet metal has since replaced the fenders, the lift kit was removed, a new fiberglass hood and new bumpers were installed, and a repaint in military green was applied. The seller reports a few flaws in the paint in the seam around the grille. A new black Bestop soft top, new windshield, stainless steel hood pin kit, custom headlight and taillight bezels and lenses, new door handles, mirrors, stainless hardware, script, and more were added as part of the refurbishment. 15" original factory wheels along with hub caps were sourced and refurbished and are supplied with new Toyo Open Country A/T tires. The military green paint was carried into the interior, which was also sprayed with bed liner, new window and door seals were added. Additions included new original style vinyl seats with matching tailgate trim and roll bar padding, New center gauge, and rubber floor mats. A Tuffy locking center console and dash, aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth, new steering wheel, and seat belts have also been installed. The odometer shows just over 700 miles added since installation of the new motor and speedometer. The original radio remains in its factory location in the dash. The existing engine was replaced with a 302ci V8 sourced from a Ford Explorer and freshened before installation. The engine bay also received the addition of spray-on bed liner and features an Edelbrock intake as well as a replacement battery and cables, voltage regulator, distributor, ignition wires, heater core, belts, water pump, transmission cooler, and fan shroud. The fuel tank was reconditioned and the mechanical fuel pump replaced. Diamond-plate panels over the fender wells were added, as were a complete Centech wiring harness running from headlights to taillights, and heat-shield material behind the firewall. A column-shifted Ford C4 3-speed automatic transmission has replaced the previous 3-speed manual gearbox. Suspension was returned to stock with new shocks, leaf springs, steering damper, tie rod, Pitman arm, track bar, U-bolts, bushing kit, and more. The Bronco was also fitted with a new Flowmaster exhaust, steering assembly, and brake lines. Twin sticks operate the transfer case and front/rear locking differentials, and the front axle and rear end were rebuilt.
