1968 Ford Torino -- Description

THIS 1968 TORINO IS LOADED! It has a big block FE engine, C6 automatic transmission, 9 inch rear end, disc brakes front, power brakes, power steering, bucket seats, rally wheels, and it a fast back and GT. HOW IS THE BODY? I consider the body very solid, floor look original and solid, frame extensions look great to me, under side in not painted with tick undercoating so you can see whats going on. One very small place on the toe board...may have been repaired and under coated. HOW IS THE PAINT? The paint is nice, I consider it upper end driver quality. The shine is brilliant, the body is straight when I look down the sides, I see no dents or rust bubbles. I do see some specs and 4 or 5 touched up chips on the edge of the door. The front fender to door fit could be better. HOW IS THE ENGINE? It runs good and I hear no knocks, unwanted rattle or blue smoke. It has a manual choke so you have to give it warm up time like most classics. I could not find the engine casting code, past owner tough it was a 390 with 428 air cleaner decal. It is a good FE big block. IS THE CAR A REAL GT? By the VIN I am told it is, decode it. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! TURN SIGNALS WORK! SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING, I HAVE A CABLE ORDERED! GAS GAUGE WORKS! WIPERS WORK! NO RADIO! HORN NOT WORKING! FACTORY AC CAR, UNDER HOOD PARTS MISSING! HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? Looks like the heavy duty C6 automatic to me, it shifts good. HOW IS THE REAR END? Its a heavy duty 9 inch. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Good interior, seat covers look new, carpet looks new, dash pad has no cracks, good door panels, arm rest worn a little on the edge, head liner good with one small repair in a seam.

HOW ARE THE WHEELS AND TIRES? Very nice rally rims with a cobra logo in center, good white lettered tires 215/70/14. HOW IS THE CHROME? New bumpers, great trim around the windows, a couple of dings in the drip rail chrome, boomerangs have pits, other parts shinny with minor pits. HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? It is power steering and drives fine for the day. HOW DOES THE CAR STOP? Decent, it is power brakes, disc in front. WHAT IS THE HISTORY? My friend near Cincinnati bought the car from a guy in Indiana and we bought it from him.
