1972 Ford Bronco Description

If you're looking for a great early Bronco, this is the one to own. Why? For starters, it has just four owners from new, including 16 years with the owner of The Bronco Hut, who also performed the restoration. With a 302 under the hood and that unique pickup-style hardtop, it's a unique, very high-quality truck with a pedigree that's 100% ready to play in the dirt. Like its sibling, the Mustang, the early Bronco could be just about anything an owner wanted, just by checking the right option boxes. This one has a rather unusual pickup box instead of the rear seating compartment, and if you want to attract attention, this is a great way to do it. Bright red paint doesn't hurt, either, and with the quality of the work, I'm betting you'll have a hard time using it anywhere but on smooth, dry pavement. It has an incredible shine and thanks to a restoration by marque experts, you know the little stuff is right. It appears to have all its original panels and the fit of everything is most definitely better than new in every way. The guys at the Bronco Hut didn't take any liberties with the bodywork, and experts will note that it sports a somewhat rare dual fuel tank option. The abbreviated bed is fitted with custom all-weather mats, as well as a spare tire with cover that still leaves plenty of room for your gear. The interior is still rather Spartan, but a tweed bench seat is an unusual feature that's quite welcome here, and it has been fitted with Mustang headrests for safety. The roll bar is cleverly hidden and when it was restored they expertly integrated 3-point seatbelts into the cab, which is a big plus in today's traffic. Original white door panels and black carpets tie everything together quite neatly and the paint on the door jambs and inner panels is every bit as nice as the exterior; nobody cut any corners with this build! A column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission works with the center-mounted transfer case T-handle to make the most of the 302's ample torque curve, and the big steering wheel is perfect for climbing through the rough stuff. Factory instruments, knobs, and AM radio keep it looking quite authentic inside, and you can see in the photos how crisply rendered all the details are. Obviously these guys knew what they were doing. 302 cubic inches' worth of V8 in a relatively lightweight package makes this Bronco extremely entertaining on the road and formidable in the dirt. The engine bay looks pretty authentic, from the heavy-duty air cleaner to the unique angled master cylinder and power brake booster, and it runs superbly. A massive radiator up front keeps it cool even when you're just creeping along in low gear and a recent carburetor means that it runs quite well. Ford Blue paint and correct decals give it an authentic look and with a Pertronix ignition system, it starts almost instantly. Underneath it shows well, with lots of originality but excellent maintenance throughout. The 3-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case are linked to a Ford 9" in the rear and a Dana 44 axle in front with a modest lift kit to accommodate the oversized 31x10.5-15 off-road radials on shiny aluminum wheels from a late-model Ford. With a great pedigree and extremely high-quality work, this awesome little Bronco is one of the smarter moves you can make with these red-hot 4x4s. Call today!
