1967 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor Pro Touring Description

The coolest Shelby Mustang was born when the producers of Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) needed a custom classic car to outshine the modern exotics. But those are the moves...In reality, this 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 Eleanor Pro Touring is sooooo much cooler. This is a no compromises build with a modern 5.0-liter Coyote V8, A/C interior, six-speed stick-shift, and a fully independent suspension. And there's only 489 miles on this whole build! This is the product of a full nut-n-bolt restoration that was completed in 2016. Not only is it fresh, but it took over $160k in restoration receipts to create such a striking machine. It's a terrific Eleanor fastback, and the customization is apparent from every angle. It starts up front with the dual billet grilles that make way for a new front bumper and PIAA racing lights. And speaking of lights, this also gets a custom set of fog lights mounted in specially built front panel. The hood pins look like they were necessary to tame this beastly bulging hood (and we'll tell you exactly why they're needed a little later.) The laser straight body lines even give room to integrate the side exhaust pipes. Out back the flat rear panel and bumper have been de-chromed in true racer fashion. But even without this bright work, Eleanor shines in many other ways. The superb silver paint with dual black racing stripes has enough gloss to be a mirror. Plus, the shine from 17-inch genuine Shelby wheels has plenty of chrome to grab everyone's attention. The black stripes outside get you ready for the all-black interior. With so few miles on the car, not even the driver's bucket has been worn-in, and so the premium insignia seats look fantastic. And the door panels, carpeting, dash, and headliner all match this for freshness. This gives you a great vintage feeling, right down to the full gauge panel. But there are also a ton of terrific upgrades. This Eleanor is quite comfortable with the retro-style AM/FM stereo that now features digital tuner, and you stay cool with the modern R134a air conditioning. Plus, the wood grain three-spoke steering wheel, power steering, and performance stick-shift with all those gears will have you grinning from ear-to-ear. The engine bay is going to draw crowds all on its own. After all, we all expect a legendary Ford V8 under the hood, but never one as young at this. You're looking at a fuel-injected 5.0-liter Coyote V8, which is shared with the most modern Mustang GTs currently on the road! This was purchased brand new and was over $9,000 investment just to get the engine home. That doesn't include all the custom labor and fabrication it took to get it looking like this belonged in the engine bay from day one. It fires up like a modern motor should, and with the headers directly feeding those side pipes, this one growls meaner than any modern Mustang. And while this has the power you demand, the real heart to this custom is the thoughtful setup that gives you total control. Nearly $3,500 was invested in a Tremec T56 Magnum XL six-speed manual transmission, and that doesn't include upgrades like the McLeod Racing throwout bearing and hydraulic clutch lines. The suspension has been fully upgraded, including Heidts tubular control arms are both ends. Yes, this is a fully independent classic Mustang! Not a bad way to spend $12,000. Plus, there are adjustable coilovers, modern performance tires, and Wilwood disc brakes at each corner (and yes, they're inboard in the rear for the ideal weight distribution!) The sale comes complete with restoration photos and a detailed receipt file - $55k was spent in labor alone on this fresh build. This kind of custom is quite unique, and when it's gone, good luck finding another so compete. Call now!
