1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Description

There's a hierarchy when it comes to 1965 Ford Mustangs, and the fastback is king. After all, this was inaugural year for the highly sought after 2+2 body. Plus, you're looking at a rare code 63B Luxury designation. So having one that has been restored with plenty of V8 power and a cool red-on-red appearance is exceptionally appealing. Crisp lines, great detailing, and a beautiful Rangoon Red paint job make this one timeless. The 2+2 fastback style is rare and desirable today, but this one is even more special. Ford made over half a million Mustangs in 1965, but only 5,776 were built in the 63B Luxury designation. And there is more to this fastback than just its specs. The factory-correct color benefits from an investment in a professional respray, and at the same time, they made this one look meaner. After all, with the grille blacked out and much of the trim expertly removed, this has a very sleek and sporty look. This is furthered by GT-style touches like the gas cap and dual exhaust tips coming out of the rear valance. Plus, with mirror-like bumpers and styled steel wheels, this one really showcases the best of an icon. The factory-correct full red interior creates one of the coolest coordinating packages with the exterior. And the level of quality tells you there was a solid investment here during restoration. It's a true luxury level Mustang with the great crinkle vinyl on the premium "Pony" package bucket seats. When you sit behind the wheel, you realize this is one of the best '65 Mustangs you could ever own. The wood on the three-spoke steering wheel coordinates nicely with paneling on the center console and the dash. This has the right upgrades like the period-correct GT-style round gauges, and even a retro style radio that has a modern AM/FM digital tuner with iPod input. Under the hood is the correct displacement for this C-code coupe, but the 289 cubic-inch V8 that has been given plenty of extra flair. The polished valve covers, air topper, and Monte Carlo bar look great in the glossy black engine bay. And the details are all in place â€" from the decals to the correct washer fluid bag. And not only does this motor show all signs of being a fresh build, but also it has nice power thanks to the addition of an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. As you look at the undercarriage photos you'll see more nice signs of investment, including fresh components, a newer gas tank, good bushings, and the correct red oxide. This is a great car to show off, and so you'll love the fine driving features like the three-speed automatic transmission, wide BF Goodrich tires, and front disc brakes. This is a rare and well-restored pony that will be galloping out of our showroom soon. Don't delay, call today!!!
