1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Description

This car would be an incredible addition to anyone's collection - It is only original & unrestored once!

1969 Mach 1, 428 Cobra-Jet, 4-speed, 3.50 gear. Car retains ~85% original paint (silver jade). Close ratio 4-speed, AM radio and power steering for options. All drivetrain components are original and VIN stamped. Black original interior (very nice). Early car so Teak wood grain inserts (lighter wood color). Car originally sold in Kentucky and was a Southern car most of its life. Car has 30,878 DOCUMENTED original miles.Majority of car is unrestored. Purchased by me from former owner who bought the car 10 years ago from Jacky Jones and Bob Perkins. They purchased the car to flip with a pile of NOS parts from Rich M. who was going through a divorce and needed to sell the car. The former owner told me that the car sat idle for a long time before he purchased it but that it was always in a climanent controlled environment. Car needed some TLC maintenance wise (brakes, fuel lines, carb rebuild, etc...) to create a nice reliable driver that former owner was in search of. Last year he decides to go through drivetrain due to excessive fluid leaks. Rebuild of components was straight forward. Engine retains original standard bore. New camspringsss valvesinstalled. New bearings. Valve job was mainly required with new valve guides installed. Photo documented engine rebuild - Really cool pixs he took. Trans was in great shape. New trans kit installed. Original clutch rebuilt. Also in great shape. Car runs and drives well now. Choke tubes currently not installed so engine needs to warm up a bit before idling nicely. He says he goofed up on that when installing engine in car. He left tubes off to prevent damage not realizing how difficult it would be to install tubes into exhaust manifold. Cars also retains original starter, alternator, fuel pump, water pump. All of these items have been rebuiltdetailed too.Former owners gave me a fair amount of original take off parts. Rear shocks, rims, hoses, belts, heater core (did not leak, but hoses were in poor condition due to age), wheel cylinders, ps control valve (rebuilt), ps ram (rebuilt), ps hoses, etcHere's a list of included parts that I received from former owner. If you see the word "ORIGINAL" it means that to my knowledge the part was originally delivered with the car when new. There's a small chance that something could have been changed early in the cars life that I'm unaware of. Some of theseitems are inrough condition for being in use for so long. Still good to have with car on my opinion.Original upper radiator hoseOriginal lower radiator hoseOriginal heater hosesOriginal heater core (did not leak)Original alternator beltsOriginal power steering beltOriginal rear shock absorbersOriginal hood hinges(4) original brake wheel cylinders(2) original short power steering hoses (between ram and control valve)(1) original longer power steering hose(4) original chrome plated rims. Dated for build of car. Car had a very light "shimmy" while driving when first purchased. Tracked down to very slight out of true condition. These are 2 piece rims that are riveted together. This was difficult to determine. New rimscured shimmy, perhaps these can be looked at again.Original power steering ram (rebuilt, ready to install if desired)Original power steering control valve (rebuilt, ready to install if desired)REPO choke tubes. These should have been installed beforerebuilt engine installed into car. Very difficult to get at exhaust manifold connection now.

Stephen Becker personally works side by side with the Shelby American Automobile Club registrars and have supported their efforts to keep Carroll Shelby’s automobiles and contribution to the automotive industry alive.

Stephen Becker is one of the most renowned Shelby authorities in the world, announced the introduction of a new certified appraisal program for 1960s Shelby Cobras, GT350s and GT500s. Previously available only to a select group of companies and celebrities, SGB’s invaluable expertise is now available to individuals contemplating the sale or purchase of a vintage Shelby car.

“For years, MOPAR, Corvette and Ford collectors have had access to detailed appraisals from experts in those cars, but enthusiasts have not been able to tap a form program when considering the purchase or sale of a Shelby,” said Becker. “With the expertise, records and access to details of Cobras, GT500s and GT350s available through me, collectors can now have the knowledge they need when making a decision on a Shelby they want to purchase or sell.”

Becker personally has performed evaluations for years and attended key collector car auctions for a small group of corporate clients like insurance companies and manufacturers. In late 2009, Stephen Becker provided an appraisal of 75 cars in the corporate and museum collection of Shelby American. The appraisals were done for Shelby’s insurance company, which requested current values of the extensive collection of significant cars. Other high profile corporate and celebrity clients have included the famous Shelby Parts & Restorations company, as well as leaders in the music and entertainment industry.

“Shelby cars are usually considered blue chip collectibles, but each must be carefully inspected and appraised to understand the true value,” noted Becker. “Not only is it important to ensure a car is a genuine Shelby, it’s critical to understand its history. The value difference between a survivor car with great provenance and a Shelby ‘rebuilt’ from a few major components left over from a wreck can be hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

Stephen’s knowledge and extensive library led to the creation of the Becker Certified Shelby Certification program. A proprietary 25 point inspection and exhaustive research provides the most thorough report on the market for genuine Shelby vehicles.
Over the past decade, Stephen Becker has been retained by key automotive groups, collectors and industry leaders to authenticate and value Shelby vehicles. This led to the creation of a program for individual collectors and enthusiasts. When completed, a client received a detailed report with a history of the vehicle, if available, and documentation to validate the value.

Since 1977, Stephen Becker has been regarded as a leading authority on 1960s era Shelby Cobras, GT350s and GT500s. The company’s expertise and in-depth knowledge have been tapped by clients to purchase, consign and restore original Shelby’s. SGB has represented clients around the world on stage when their Shelby’s crossed the block.

Founder Stephen Becker was one of the youngest people to ever be selected as a finalist for the Ernst & Young/Inc. Magazine “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the early 1990s.
