1970 Ford Mustang Sports Roof Description

You are looking at a Super Solid1970 Ford Mustang Sportsroof that was ordered as a Basic Off Standard Equipment Order from Ford originally by the dealership.

This carwhile needinga restorationisa Super SolidSouthern Car that would make for a very straight forwardrestoration.

This is an ORIGINAL F-code 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback thatspent it's entire life in Central Ga.

Thiscar is justwaiting forthe nextMustangenthusiast to come along and finish restoring this car to its former glory!!

This car was a Basic Off - Standard Equipment Order at Moody Ford Motor Co. in Warner Robins, Ga. It was ordered in the Atlanta 21 DSO in Medium Lime Metallic with a Ivy Bucket Seat Interior

This '70 Mustang Sportsroofper the Deluxe Marti Report was originally ordered as follows:
302-2V V-8 Engine 3-speed Manual Transmission2.79 GearedConventional RearMedium Lime Exterior PaintIvy VinylBucket Seat InteriorE78-14 Belted White Sidewall TiresAM RadioWheel Covers
This car is a project carthat has been sitting fora number of years. Along the way theMustang's originalpowerplantwas removed; but a complete replacement running 302 and C4 Automatic out of another Mustang included with the car.
The engine is complete with all brackets, pulleys, and accessories so you will not have to hunt down any of those pieces.
I also have a Ford RUG - E3 Toploader 4-speed Transmission that is included with the car (see pics).
The brakes are not functional at this time and will need to be gone through. They started to do a Disc Brake Conversion and added the Power Brake Stick Pedals and the Power Booster but that is as far as they got. There are drum brakes up front and the rear has no brakes or 3rd member.
The Wheels and Tries are BRAND NEW at a cost of $1500 on this car and are American Racing Torque Thrusts with BF Goodrich Radial TA's. (if the winning bidder does not want these wheels; I will credit $1500 back on the purchase price to the winning bidder and install a set of roller wheels)
This car being a plain Manual Transmission equipped Sportsroof would make for an AWESOME Boss 302 Tribute car!!!

Thecar hadbeen repaintedover the original Medium Lime paint and color changed tosome funky Purple Fade paint job from the 80's before being stripped and Epoxy primered. Both 1/4's were very decent and only required the lower rears to be repaired. All of the seams on the engine bay aprons are nice andunblistered. This car showssome wear and tear but overall is it a Super Solid car for the winning bidder to finish to his/her personal taste.
The Body on theMustang while not quite paint ready is a reasonably good platform from which to start with and would not take much to get it there.
The Hood,Fenders, Doors, Decklid, and 1/4's are all Super Solid Pieces to work with.
The Floors have been done and sprayed with Red Oxide Primer as the factory did. TheTorque Boxes, Frame Rails, Rockers, TrunkFloors, Drops, Cowl, etc. are super solidon this car.
The Black Bucket Seat Interior while relatively complete will need to be redone. The dash has had Deluxe Woodgrain Instruments and Deluxe Electric Clock added to it.
I have all of the original window trim and drip rail mouldings for the car as well.
There are manyNEW parts included with this car to be used in its restoration. Here is a partial list of the NEW items that come with this car as part of the auction.
NEW FUEL TANKNEW FUEL TANK SENDING UNITNEW BATTERY TRAYNEW CARPETNEW SILL PLATESNEW SAIL PANELS
Undoubtedly you will need someparts and pieces for this car as yourestore it, but it is a prettycomplete car that is asuper solid platform to start with!!
Overall this is a very decent 1970 Mustang Fastback thatis a solid restoration candidate. There are lots of picked over, rusted out carcasses out there; but decent do-able cars such as this that are not rusted to death don't come along very often. This car is registered and insured in my name and is ready for sale and transfer. The state of Georgia does not require titles on pre-86 vehicles (Alabama, Connecticut, New York and several other states are the same way) and we use a Ga State Registration as the ownership document that conveys as title and converts to title in title states. If you have been looking for a SolidMustang Fastback to restore then don't hesitate on this one; as is it may be some time before anothersolid resto projectsuch as this comes along again!
Car is currently located in Southwest Florida and for any international bidders we are close to the ports to ease in shipping and can assist your shippers. I can assist with delivery along the I-75 corridor if need be depending on where the winning bidder is located.
