Winter is the best time to be shopping for a convertible so that you can score the nicest one around and be ready for springtime cruising. A sunny winter day with a wool cap and the heat on is also a special treat. So, don't wait and don't hesitate. Come on down and check out this beautiful '65 before someone else does. Black and Red is one of the nicest color combinations possible on a sporty classic...like the Mustang. The black catches and reflects the light, really highlights the crisp, clean lines of the hood and fenders, and makes the chrome shine that much brighter too. Mustang convertibles bring looks of envy when you drive around with the top down, but also look great with their roof up, especially with a Black roof on the black paint. The front of the car leads with the iconic Pony in a black grill surrounded by delicate chrome piping underlined by a simple bumper. Bold Red rally stripes flow back and over the hood scoop and the front fenders are graced with 289 badges as well as a galloping Mustang over red, white and blue stripes. There is polished rocker trim as well as wheel wells trimmed in chrome and the back of the car is finished out nicely with those triple taillights wired to flash in sequence underlined by another simple but sweet looking chrome bumper. Open the door, or just look inside if the roof is down and you will find a stunning Red interior that is all fresh and nicely detailed out. The door panels feature a pleated center section surrounded by smooth vinyl that are both outlined in chrome piping along with chrome door handles and window cranks. A wooden steering wheel is mounted on a deep dish three-spoke hub with a Mustang horn button. It sits in front of a beautiful dash panel of wood grain with chrome bezels surrounding the gauges as well as trimming out the cluster. That look is echoed quite nicely on the passenger side glovebox too. A Mustang FM/Cassette head unit drives a stock speaker in the dash as well as Pioneers in the kick panels while the air conditioning system provides relief on those hot summer days if you get stuck in traffic. A T-handle shifter rises from the center console for the automatic trans and the red seats with herds of galloping Mustangs as well as fresh red carpeting complete the look. Pop the hood and you will find a nicely dressed up 302 cubic inch V8 nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. A chrome shock tower brace wraps around ribbed, oval, black and polished air filter assembly which is complimented by valve covers embossed with Ford with the same treatment. That air filter feeds a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. New ignition components include red distributor cap as well as red spark plug wires run neatly through anodized looms. A newer brake booster and master cylinder as well as a Ford A/C compressor are joined by fresh belts and hoses for a well maintained and sorted engine bay. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels mounted on leaf springs, and Flowmaster mufflers give the car a nice sound. Power steering and power front disc brakes provide good handling as well as great stopping performance and the rubber meets the road through 215/60R15s in the back and 205/60R15s in the front mounted on those sweet looking Shelby Racing Equipment wheels. A beautiful Black and Red '65 Mustang convertible. It doesn't get any better than this. Come on down and check it out. Then take it home and get ready for spring.
