1978 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat Description

Up for auction is a 100% original 1978 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 4X4 Trailer Special. This is a barn find which I purchased vehicle from the original owners estate from New Berlin, Wis. Vehicle has 43,000 original miles!

Vehicle was purchased from Selig Ford, Inc of West Allis, Wis on 3/24/78. Vehicle is rare equipped XLT Lariat with a 400, 2 barrel, automatic transmission, 4X4 w/ locking hubs, factory air conditioning, tilt wheel, cruise control, power steering, power brakes, camper mirrors, day/night mirror, sliding rear window, factory locking hood release, chrome rear step bumper, dual fuel tanks, Ford steel styled wheels (2 set the original wheels and factory mounted tires are in the bed and are included in sale). The 5 tires and wheels are original including the spare. The spare never was out of the carrier. I put four other original ford wheels on the truck because I wanted to leave the factory original tires on the factory wheels(the originals are dry rotted but hold air.

The original owners manuals, and dealer sales papers are in the glove compartment.

This truck is 100% original. This body is 100% solid and original which the hood has minor SURFACE rust on rot. The undercarriage is also 100% solid surface rust but no rot. The surface rust on the undercarriage could be cleaned up with a pressure washer and a wire brush.

The paint is 100% original and is in decent condition.

The original interior is in pristine condition.

Vehicle runs and drives extremely well. All the gauges and optional equipment operates properly. even the air conditioning works and blows cold. The four wheel drive operates properly. The fuel tank switch valve operates flawlessly.

When I purchased vehicle the fuel tanks and fuel lines were flushed, as well and the radiator coolant. Vehicle has new starter, wheel cylinders, front calipers, brakes, 2 brakes line, muffler and tail pipe. the rest of the brake and fuel lines were in great condition so I decided to leave the originals in place.

This is a extremely beautiful original truck that is highly optioned and highly collectible. Truck is truly unmolested!!!!
