1976 Ford F-250 4X4 Highboy Description

Almost all stock and original, good running and driving 1976 Ford F250 Highboy 3/4 Ton longbed 4X4 pickup truck with onlytwo long-term owners (1976-1997, 1997-2018). It's all stock and original other than headers, cool vintage mag wheels, aftermarket air cleaner and aftermarket steering wheel. Rust-through is largely confined to floor pans and rear wheel arches (coated with a rust reformer so it won't spread; it's the white stuff in the pics). Patch panels are readily available in the aftermarket and they are inexpensive.
The running gear is all original and consists of a 360cid V8 (with newer battery and starter), NP435 4 speed manual transmission and divorced NP205 transfer case running to a Dana 44 front differential (with locking hubs and disk brakes) and Dana 60 rear differential (with 4.10 gears). I was told the 90,529 mile odometer reading represents actual mileage and I believe it. If you look closely at my additional engine pictures top and bottom you'll see it looks much cleaner than most untouched engines of this vintage. And other than needing a tune-up it drives really well too. Although the headers back to mufflers are in bad shape so I'm including original exhaust manifolds and two turbo mufflers.
Exterior is all original other than vintage mag wheels (tires are old). Body was resprayed long ago in the original brown. Since then several small, easily fixable rust holes have emerged that are displayed in my additional pictures. The only major issue is the rear wheel arches. Patch panels are readily available on Ebay for less than $75 a pair if you choose to go that route or just leave it as is.Otherwise the exterior sheetmetal overall is really straight. And all glass is good other than several rock chips in the windshield. Windows roll up and down (regulators could use lubrication) and doors open and close properly (door frames need new weatherstripping). Most exterior lights work. The frame and springs have heavy surface rust which is typical but everything is solid underneath.
The interior is well-preserved other than floor pans. I removed the rusty portions and what remains is solid but they should be replaced (less than $100 for a pair on Ebay). They can be screwed, riveted or welded in place. Dash is good with no cutting or butchery other than a gauge/clock hole to the left of the glovebox. Stereo is a vintage Pioneer AM/FM/cassette deck. Attached to the steering column is a vintage Sun tachometer and trailer brake unit. Upholstery is original. All gauges work except fuel gauge. Heater fan does not work. Door panels are rough but usable.
This is a good truck to build from with solid bones. It runs, drives, shifts, steers, turns and brakes nicely and is very tight. And it's almost all stock and original with limited and confined rust. It could easily be a daily driver with floor pans installed, an exhaust system and a tune-up. I hope it ends up with someone who will preserve or restore it. Stock and original vintage trucks like this which haven't been horribly modified over the years are getting harder to find. Just my two cents.
