Factory V-8, 4-Speed, Posi – 73,700 Original Miles -- RARE! (#29 of 678) This is a nearly complete, daily driver project that is just ready for paint and body. Mechanically and electrically sound, very reliable, super fast & loud! Driveline is nearly new (3000 miles driving). Very rare (near original) car with an engine upgrade, 260 to 289 HIPO). MOTOR: 1965 - 289 HIPO (Fairlane), 6 bolt bell housing, solid lifter motor, 271+ hp @ 6000 rpm. 10.5:1 compression, roller rockers, Edelbrock intake and carburetor, Pertronix ignition, aluminum water pump, Champion aluminum radiator, mechanical and electric fans, runs @ 160 degrees. 100 amp alternator *3000 miles on rebuilt motor *Motor was rebuilt about 12 years ago *Originally from a 1965 Fairlane TRANSMISSION: Original Borg Warner T-10 (cast iron), new flywheel, new clutch(stock), new throw out bearing, new shifter linkage bushings, new custom transmission mount, vintage 1960’s Hurst Competition Plus Shifter *2000 miles on rebuilt transmission *Transmission was rebuilt 3 years ago *Driveshaft was rebuilt 3 years ago REAR END: Original came with an 8”, 3.50:1, TrueTrac Posi, New 4.11:1 gears, new axles, bearings, seals, etc. *800 miles on rebuilt rear end *Completely rebuilt 2 years ago BRAKE SYSTEM: Original Drum-Drum, complete rebuild front and rear, new wheel cylinders, drums, all hardware, shoes, E-brake cable, SS rear brake line, dual bowl master cylinder *3000 miles on brake system rebuild *Brake system rebuilt 5 years ago BODY & SUSPENSION: Excellent condition, has the usual dents, chips and dings.
