I've had this truck for 3 years, having a professionally built and installed C6 transmission put in it right after I got it, following a complete engine rebuild. I paid for a heavy duty transmission cooler, so you should have 100,000 miles of service left. I use if for Home Depot and Lowes runs (hence the antique plates) but run it regularly. You could drive it every day if you can stand the gas mileage. I've taken it as far as 300 miles with no issues. This is just a great old truck, but keep in mind it is 41 years old. It has not been chopped or lowered or jacked with in any way, so if an all-original F150 is what you're looking for, this is it. Great old patina on the paint, which cleans up nicely even if showing through in a place or two. This is a Texas truck, so there is very little rust. There is a spot on the inside at the bottom of the driver door (pictured) and the passenger side rain gutter has rust as well. VERY solid throughout. All the glass is good and windows roll up and down as they should. The tool box on the side opens and closes as it should, as does the tailgate. This is a carburetor truck, meaning (for you whipper snappers), you don't jump in when it's 20 degrees and drive off before it's warmed up. It takes a minute or two to warm up but runs beautifully. You could put a manual choke in it, but I live where it is sometimes 80 or 85 in February so never needed it. If you live in Iowa you may want to do that. I should mention the factory dash temp and fuel gauges do not work, but there is an after market temp gauge mounted under the steering column which works well. If you're wondering whether you can drive it across the country, I would expect so, but again, it's 41 years old with many 41 year old parts so you decide. If I were you I would ship it, and I can be available for your shipper if given a couple of days notice. Finally, this was originally an AC truck. The compressor was removed for the rebuild and wasn't put back in. The bracket, condenser and hoses are there and I have the compressor, but cannot attest to whether it works if installed. This is not a show truck and while I'm not giving it away, my reserve is more than fair. Good luck!If you Buy It Now, I will pay $300 toward your shipping fee. Thanks.
