1940 Ford Other -- Description

Let me start by saying, that this car is a very impressive car in every respect. It has been completely transformed from its original factory specifications into a true "work of art". As with any "work of art" it requires a considerable amount of vision, time, expertise, patience and big money to be able to create, sort out and finally finish a car of this caliber. This beauty was saved by its current to live a breath again with its...Original Rust Free Body, However, all of the interior and original drivetrain was redone to create the masterpiece as you see here. It took several years working full time by a variety of craftsman some of which are the finest builders in our area who are world renowned for this work finished to the tune $140,000. Starting from scratch on the chassis was a completely new custom frame from TCI Engineering Inc, This frame was manufactured to the proper specifications to accommodate a TH-700R4 Transmission with a Chevrolet Small Block V8 Engine, Currie 9" Rear End, Complete Air Spring Suspension Package, Mustang II, Independent Front Suspension with Four Link Mild Pro-Street Rear Suspension, Front and Rear Sway Bars, Pro-Street Track Bars, 31 Spline Fast Axles, and Polyurethane Motor Mounts. ENGINE- For power and reliability a General Motors " Fast Burn" FB385 383 Cubic Inch Crate Motor was installed with the Factory GM Performance kit, which includes performance roller camshaft, and roller rocker arms producing 450 horsepower. TRANSMISSION- Again, for performance and reliability and comfort a TH700R four speed automatic transmission was taken to Bow-Tie Overdrives, for a complete overhaul and upgrading. This included, heavy duty torque converter, internal blueprinting with heavy duty components set up for a 3.70 rear axle ratio with 28inch tires and overdrive. REAR DIFFERENTIAL- A Currie Enterprises 9" rear end was ordered and built with a 3.70 rear axle ratio with a 31 spline, 4 spider, TSD limited slip and Explorer rear disc brake kit with parking brake. WHEELS AND TIRES- American Racing 505 aluminum wheels 15 x7 fronts with 195/60R15 BFG Comp Ta tires and 17 x 11 rears with 305/45/r17 BFG Comp Ta with wheel locks. CARBURETION- Holley 4150 Four Barrel Carburetor was purchased and then sent to TPC Performance Carburetion for a complete Stage 3 Performance overhaul, blueprinting and documenting and custom tuning. INTERIOR- Fully custom interior installed with custom reclining seats, full two-tone grey and white leather interior, including seats, door panels, center console. Complete carpet kit, 3 point retractable seat belts, and leather-wrapped polished aluminum custom steering wheel and horn button. BODY AND PAINT- Exterior paint color is Wild Berry Pearl, which is a Don Williams 5 stage custom paint job. Complete body was epoxy primed at San Diego Plating, next 1 coat of color, 1 coat of pearl, and 2 coats of clear coats. SUSPENSION- Mustang II front end with front and rear sway bars, complete four link rear suspension with completely adjustable airbag suspension, cockpit controlled switches and gauges. BRAKES- Four wheel disc brakes, gas-slotted and cross-drilled front brake rotors, stainless steel brake lines. LIGHTING- All of the lighting has been converted to LED for safety, brightness and reliability. GAUGES/INSTRUMENTATION- A complete "Classics Instruments" gauge package was installed which includes, tachometer, speedometer, clock, water temperature, oil temperature, voltage, oil pressure and fuel level. STEREO SYSTEM- Complete custom sound system installed with Am/Fm Cd Player with amplifier, built in woofers and tweeters that sounds incredible, but is completely hidden. This is only a very brief description of some of the things that have been done to this incredible car. It must be seen in person, to truly appreciate all of the details and craftsmanship that have been applied. In addition, the car has been fully sorted. The owner of this car has driven it half way across the country two different times without any issues. It has all of the modern conveniences of a modern car, like power steering, air conditioning, nice stereo, modern suspension and brakes, reliable engine and overdrive transmission and the incredibly cool look of a classic, vintage touring car. If you have ever considered building a car like this, or have actually completed one, you will appreciate what it takes to accomplish this finished product. You will not be disappointed.
