1966 Mustang “A” Code Fastback Project
1966 Ford Mustang A Code Description
Here is a 1966 Mustang Fastback Project Car. I have a clear title for it.
This Fastback is a rarer factory “A” code car which means it was manufactured with the more desirable, higher compression performance 289 and 4 barrel intake. It was also made with a Toploader 3 speed manual transmission.
A lot of the hard work has already been done. I had a professional welder install a new one piece floorpan. The car’s body has already been sandblasted. Any large rust spots were cut out and new sheet metal was welded in. After that, it received a coat of primer.
This fastback was produced in the VERY RARE factory paint color called Emberglo. That beautiful color was only available in 1966. The original interior color is Parchment (a cream or light beige) and Emberglo.
The car was disassembled for sandblasting and I have the parts that were removed from the car including the original 289, the transmission as well as all the glass. The interior was a bit tattered but I have it set aside in storage.
There are a few small rust spots that developed while it was in storage.
This would be a great foundation for a project build as you can customize it however you’d like.
