1967 Ford F-100 Short Wheel Base Truck Patina
1967 Ford F-100 Custom Description
1967 Ford F-100 2wd short wheel base. Manual steering. Manual brakes. Manual transmission.
The truck has a rebuilt 300 inline 6 with approximately 20k miles on it. Stock rebuilt 1bbl carter carb with manual choke. New radiator, hoses, belts, alternator, fuel pump etc.
The truck was originally a three speed on the column truck. Transmission has been swapped for a Ford 4-speed RUG overdrive top loader transmission. 1, 2, 3, gears are the same ratios as the old three speed but fourth is a 0.81 overdrive. Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.70 gears. New clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate were replaced approx. 10k miles ago. Both U-joints were replaced in the driveshaft. I have the original three speed trans and original driveshaft that can go with the truck if the new owner wishes to put it back to the original configuration.
Body is in decent shape with very few dents. Typical rust for a bumpside in the bottom of the doors and bed floor. Battery tray and cab corners are good with minimal rust. Most of the frame and undercarriage has been painted with POR15 paint. I liked the patina the truck has so I never did any body work or paint work.
All bushings, shocks, rag joint and worn out steering components have been replaced with new parts.
Wheel bearings, brakes on all four corners, master cylinder, and new stainless steel brake lines from the master cylinder to all four wheels have been replaced.
-Wipers work.-All lights - headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, hazard lights work.-Has an aftermarket Sony radio.-Added replacement lap seat belts.
The bad:
-Horn does not work-Kingpins have some play in them and could be replaced...didn't because I was planning a disk brake swap.-It is tough to downshift back into 2nd gear but it shifts up through all gears with no issues, no grinding, etc.-Exhaust manifold gasket has a leak and could use replacing.-Pinion seal has a slight leak
I have a set of disk brake I-beams from a 1979 F-100 for the truck to swap the truck over to disk brakes...just never got around to doing it. Think I have a new disk master cylinder, calipers, etc for the swap also...would have to find them if a buyer is interested.
The truck averages 17-19mpg with this motor/trans/gear setup. I used this truck as a daily driver for approximately an 80 mile a day round trip 5 days a week for about a year.
While it's not perfect by any means, it is very reliable and I would hop in it and drive anywhere I needed to go without hesitation.
I've tried to be thorough in my description but I'm sure I've missed something. Feel free to ask me any questions.
