1948 Ford F1 Original Flat Head V8
1948 Ford F-100 Description
This is a 1948 Ford F1 in amazing original condition. It was purchased new by the Murffin Drilling Co Wichita Ks which is still in business today and a multimillion dollar company. It was sold in 1952 to the Smallwood family farm in Abliene KS where it remained for the next 66 years until I purchased it 2018. Since I have owned it I made the truck road worthy. This is NOT a project truck, it is very capable of making a 100 mile road trip today. The flathead V8 was removed and new seals and gaskets were added. The truck doesn't leak a drop of fluid, not a drop. The truck runs like a swiss watch with many items rebuilt or replaced. This includes tires, master cylinder, fluids, carb professionally rebuilt, shocks, etc.
Truck has 36,000 original miles and yes the speedo still works. In fact everything still works on this truck. The truck drives as they did in 48. Keep in mind no power brakes, no power steering, basic suspension. Its a hoot to drive but don't expect a new truck driving experience. It has been converted to 12 volt and all electrical and lights work fine. Heater works great too which was an option in 48.
Truck has minimal rust, bottom of front fenders. Floor boards are rock solid (See photos) this is an honest truck. Previous owner believed this may have been one of the first F1's in Kansas. I can not verify that but regardless its a time piece and has solid history.
I consider myself a custodian of this truck and am seeking a buyer that wishes to keep it original. Anyone wanting a hot rod please look somewhere else.Truck speaks for itself, it really is an investment that won't cost you a dime when you decide to pass it forward.I may consider partial trades if that what it takes to make a deal but I am most focused on a responsible buyer.
