1965 Ford Mustang Description

Have you ever wanted a worry-free iconic classic car that feels better than new? It's time to take a long look at this expertly and thoroughly restored 1965 Ford Mustang. We'll give you folders full of documentation and restoration receipts that explain how one of the most intriguing A-code pony cars you will ever find has also been painstakingly invested in to return it to its very interesting roots. This coupe has a build date of August 17, 1964. That's important to Mustang fans because it's the first day that the 1964 cars were switched over to the 1965 model year. So with such as close changeover, and Ford selling Mustangs like hotcakes, this coupe was actually assembled with both '64.5 and '65. Very cool right? Well it only gets better since it stayed with the original owner from August 17 of '65 until January 2013. By then it was in need of a full restoration, and luckily it was in the hands of a Mustang Club member who really understood this unique machine. It starts with a professional respray of this coupe's iconic and correct Wimbledon White. All the panels were refit so they line up better than new. It has new bumper guards, new mirrors, complete trim, and so much while looking authentic. To understand the level of devotion that went into this coupe, just take a look in the restoration book at how well the original wheels were media blasted and painted. It's a lot invested there, and the public isn't even going to see this, because the wheels are covered by new date-correct factory spinner hubcaps. Inside the factory-correct black vinyl shows more evidence that this restoration was a labor of love. It's not just that the seats look like no one has ever sat in them; there's new carpeting, new door panels, and just about every piece of the bright trim is sparkling because it's new. Even if you've driven a '65 Mustang before, you've probably never felt a steering wheel as crisp as this one, and beyond that the factory gauge pack is crystal clear. But more than just look amazing, this one is built for comfort with a new heater core, new hoses, and ice-cold air conditioning.Did you also pick up on that this is a factory A-code car? So yes, under the hood is the original 289 cubic-inch motor with the enhanced compression and four barrel carburetor. But while it looks like the perfect time warp right down to the correctly painted gold air cleaner and valve covers, this one has been rebuilt with Ford approved parts to be better than new. Over $11,000 was spent just on the block, including having it fully stripped, boiled, and ground to bare metal. It was then rebuilt with Speed-Pro forged pistons. At this same time the original C4 three-speed automatic was restored. Now there is only about 4,400 miles on this fully rebuilt drivetrain. But the investments don't stop there. It also includes a new dual exhaust was mounted, the 8-inch rear end was flushed, and new front & rear shocks were fit. Just as with the headlights, Kelsey Hayes four piston caliper disc brakes were installed in the front to increase drivability without sacrificing this unique machine. We have only touched on the tip of this Wimbledon White iceberg. There is so much more to go through in the full restoration files as well as show you the original docs like the dealer invoice, bill of sale, warranty card, owner's manual, and even a 1965 Mustang marketing brochure. If you ever wondered what it was like to purchase a "new" 1965 Mustang, this is about as close as you're going to get! If you are intrigued by the story, then it's time to give us a call because there's just not enough space here to go though this Mustang's unique story.
