GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Hardtop Coupe for purchase. For the 4th Generation of the Fairlane moniker, Ford moved the line to all mid-size offering to compete with the GM A-body platform. While the platform produced several different variations, the Hardtop Sorts Coupe was an exciting edition to the muscle car fray. The 1964 Ford Fairlane offered here is a wonderfully highly original example that has undergone an exterior refurbishment painted in its... original factory color, Guardsman Blue. The car is powered by its 289 V8 engine, automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The interior appears original in all aspects including the original bench seat upholstery, original dash, dash fascia and gauges, original 3-spoke steering wheel, horn ring, door panels etc. The car has a wonderful stock appearance with its classic original stance, wheel covers, all exterior trim and badging. The motor compartment has a completely stock appearance right down to the original washer bag and power steering pump and reservoir. Mechanically, the always reliable 289 V8 purrs like a kitten at idle and barks like a dog when you get your foot into it. According to the owner, the engine was rebuilt in 2001 with only just over 1100 miles put on the car since. Documentation includes its original tags, owners manual, some receipts of recent work performed on the car and a boat load of literature from Fairlane Magazine.
