1989 Ford Bronco *** NO RESERVE ***
1989 Ford Bronco XLT Description
1989 Bronco.
History... I bought the Bronco from an elderly woman who had it parked in her garage for 8 years. She quit driving it when the clutch started to give her a problem and she felt at her age a smaller car was a better choice. She may have been the original owner I'm not sure. When I first saw it I could tell that it was in excellent condition even through a heavy layer of dust.
Body... I have found no sign of rust the trim and chrome are complete and way above average. The pin strips have some wear the paint is in good condition with some light scuffs and a few stone chips. The windshield has a stone crack and the left front turn lens has a crack. The Bronco spare tire cover was badly sun damaged and was not kept. The power windows and locks work well but the rear window switch is temperamental (I have hooked up a bypass switch for the days it gets moody).
Mechanical... When I picked the Bronco up it need work from sitting so long, the following list of work has been done with the last 500 miles... Replace clutch, clutch slave cylinder and pressure plate,... replace rear wheel cylinders... replace fuel tank, fuel tank sending unit, fuel pump and fuel tank straps... replace all 4 tires... wheel alignment... replace battery... full tune up... change all fluids.. replace windshield wipers. This Bronco starts on the first turn, it drive steers and stops well. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country at any time. The 4 wheel drive works as it should and the suspension is solid.
Interior... The interior is outstanding with only some fading to the front seats. Everything is as it came from the factory with no holes drilled or speakers changed, the radio is original and the headliner is excellent. Even the painted chrome trim is perfect.
Over All... This is one of the best survivor Broncos I have ever seen. It has been well maintained and you can tell just by looking at it that it has led a charmed life.I bought the Bronco to to use as a second car at my lake home. It was exactly what I wanted, the 300CID inline 6 cylinder engine has a fantastic reputation, I wanted a manual transmission and most importantly I wanted a classic Bronco that was in excellent condition that had not been messed with. This fit the bill perfectly. Once I got it home it was important to me that was reliable and in great mechanical condition. I took it to a local mechanic and asked him go over the Bronco and do anything he thought need attention. The work is done but as luck would have i, my lake home is now my main home and my regular cars and other classic cars get all the use. The Bronco has just been sitting for the last 6 months, with this in mind my best move is to let it go to someone who will enjoy it.
