1963 Ford Econoline Falcon 15 Window Van - Beautiful
1963 Ford E-Series Van Description
For sale is my 1963 Ford Econoline Falcon 15 window van, in amazingly good condition. I bought this van a few years ago from a family in Oklahoma that owned it for two generations. I got in and drove it all the way home to Miami, Florida (1,500+ miles) without any issues. That's how good this 63 year old van is. The odometer indicates 46k miles, and it very well may be the actual mileage. I don't see any evidence of rust or a previous collision, this van is solid and dry.The pictures and video tell the story of its condition.
Everything you touch is crisp and tight. The steering wheel is mint with no cracks, all doors shut nicely, all locks and door handles work flawlessly, steering has no play, "three on the tree" column shift manual is tight, all lights work, horn works, even the dash lights dim and interior dome lights works when you turn the knob. All gauges work and speedometer is clean and works smoothly. Still has the original oil bath type air cleaner. Dash is in mint condition, uncut with original AM radio. Radio lights up and makes noise, but is not functional. It has a cool automated step that slides out when you open the side doors. The engine starts right up, is quiet and smooth as silk.Cruises nicely at 55mph - 65mph, with a sweet spot at about 60mph.Van drivesstraight, has no wobbles or shakes, stops very well and does not pull.
The interior paint looks to be original, and is in excellent condition. Exterior looks to have been painted, and has some chips overall and a blemish on the passengerside door. I was told the interior is original, and only the front passenger jump seat was redone, but in OEM material. The interior is very cool with great colors. It has all the door, side and roof panels intact and they look to be original. It would be very hard to find another Econoline in this original condition, if it exists and even harder to find the higher trim line Falcon passengervan.
This van is tons of fun. It's like a party on wheels. Load it up with your friends, and its a guaranteedgood time. Be prepared for tons of attentions, thumbs ups, questions and comments..
In my years of ownership, I upgraded the generator to an alternator, added Pertronix electronic ignition and installed new Coker radial whitewalls. Is it perfect? No, it's a 63 year old Ford van, but this is as about as good as it gets, no disappointments here.
