1971 Ford Thunderbird Landau Description
This Thunderbird was one family owned for 48 years. The 93 year old lady that owned it could no longer drive so she had to let it go. She took great care of this car and even had a cover on the car while it was in her garage. I took it in a trade and had planned on keeping it but have run out of room so it needs to go. It's in great shape with the original optional Burgundy Fire paint and Red Hopsack Cloth and Vinyl Bucket Seats. The Cayman Vinyl (Alligator) Landau top is also original and in perfect condition. No rust bubbles anywhere. The drivers seat has a few tears but I have the correct cloth (from SMS) and fabric to get it fixed. The 429 Thunderjet has never been apart and runs strong. Mileage is less than 91K. Tires are good and everything works except the AM radio. All the rubber seals are in perfect shape and near new! I bought an AM/FM for it so you can install that or repair the AM radio. I've bought some NOS parts for the car and all are either already installed or are included in the sale. These include a clock, trunk drain tubes, side mouldings, and steering wheel cover.
The underside of this car is amazing. NO RUST anywhere on this car. You will not find a more pristine set of floorboards, trunk etc. The engine is probably cleaner than the car you drive today. All the lights work including the sequential turn signals. The trunk is tidy and deep. You can fit a lot of luggage in there. Spare tire is in great shape too. This was clearly a car that was taken care of and babied.

This is a great driving car and needs to be enjoyed. It is located in Morgan Hill California and has a clear Arizona title. The only faults I can find are that the replacement Edlelbrock carb does not have a choke so is a little cold blooded when you first start it. Other than that it has has a fresh oil change and is ready to go. Please call me for any questions or additional photos. 408-593-7375
