1989 Ford Mustang lx Description
Saleen 89-722 car. Only 67k original miles. 347 stroker with vortec supercharger. Very fast. Runs and drives well. Just needs cosmetics mostly. AC has been removed. Came with no radio from the factory. Was told by previous owner that there is $8500 in the motor, not counting the $1500 supercharger, so there may be $10,000+ in the motor. Was told it may have 550+ horsepower but I wasn't given any receipts with the car to prove that on paper but it feels like it could be close to that. T5 trans used to grind when shifting into 3rd and reverse. I replaced the clutch cable and now if I remember right, there is almost no grind going into 3rd anymore but still grinds into reverse but you can get around that by shifting into any other gear for 1 second while still holding the clutch in and then go to reverse. I still have the saleen door inner piece that came off the driver door inner. Its in fair shape but at least I still have it I guess. Original driver seat was removed at some point and replaced with a leather one from a mid 90's mustang it looks like. I don't have the original driver seat but all 86 gt's came with the same seats and they can be found online easier than people say they can be found. Car originally had blue decals along the sides. I have new ones from saleen that I never put on because there's no point in doing that until you paint the car or even just painting the black on the bumpers would make it look way better. Never been in an accident but previous owners kid backed into it with another car while it was parked in the driveway and bent the core support. And that passenger apron has been cut to put an air intake as shown in the pics. I have a used red core support that will go with the car and I bought a new apron online before but I may have lost it but I'll look around for it some more. The suspension feels very tight and good due to super low 67k miles. The motor feels great and gets 19.5mpg highway and I've driven it long distances (5 hour drives out of state) before with no problems. Battery has been relocated to the trunk. Has a small roll cage. Saleen strut tower brace is gone, it was removed to fit supercharger by a prior owner. Clean and clear title with no accidents besides the 5mph driveway incident. 67k original miles. Rare hard to find car. Has new: Front wheel bearings Front brake rotors, pads, fluid Window seals Hatch struts Clutch cable Oil change Needs about $2500-$3000 in cosmetics to be very nice: Needs: Paint core/radiator support repair or replacing headliner has a couple holes/tears Passenger window motor is slow turn signals aren't working currently check engine light is on due to motor upgrades Serpentine belt (I have a new one that can go with the car)
