1972 Ford Mustang Description

This is a 72 Maverick. I listed it as a Mustang because ebay does not have the Maverick name in it's system. My only choice was to list it as "other". The car has a Rod and Custom Motorsports front suspension installed. This kit sold for $2395, with out the cost of installation. This kit eliminates the shock towers and there is 7 inches more engine room per side. It has tubular control arms, a one inch sway bar. It has disc brakes, and power rack and pinion steering. A Ford 460 and C6 trans were installed. The motor is stock, but had more than enough horse power, and torque, to move the light weight cat. There are sub-frame connectors welded in to the car. There is also square tubing welded to the inside of the rockers, with bars connecting the front and rear frame rails, and the sub frame connectors to the rockers. It kind of looks like there is a ladder on each side of the frame, and the chassis is very stiff. This is how I received the car. When I got it, it had the stock 8 inch, non posi rear, with stock springs. When I stepped on the gas the tire would smoke like you wouldn't believe. I bought and had narrowed a 9 inch rear with 3:50 trac loc (posi) rear. I bought 31 spline M+F race axles for it. I got a Cal Trac suspension kit for the rear. This kit from Calvert Racing cost over a $1000 dollars The stock springs were not handling all that torque from the 460. I was not able to finish the car. I had a back operation and I stopped working on it. I was hoping to finish one day, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.The car has been sitting for some years. I put a socket wrench on the crank, and the motor spins, but I haven't started it in a while. The exhaust has to be put back on. (I have it) The parking brake cables have to be reconnected. (I have those parts) The rear brake fluid lines have to be installed, driveshaft installed. The car needs a little work to get back on the road, but my starting price is less that the parts cost. One picture shows the parts that come with the car. Imagine if you were to buy a stock Maverick and had to buy and install the front end kit, ($2395 plus tax) the rear, with the race axles (worth at least $1200) and the Cal Trac kit (cost a $1066 plus tax)The body is pretty solid. The car came from the factory with the rare Bright Lime paint, and was repainted red an one point. The paint could use some work, but it's not too bad. I think this car is a great deal for some one to finish up, and get back on the road to enjoy it. I have a clean NY transferable registration, in my name, for this car. In NY cars this old don't have the big titles, they have the transferable registrations, that fit in your wallet.
