1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Wagon
1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Description
Really don't want to but its time. It's a fun car, just time to move on. It is a good driver and runs well. Keep it local mostly with quick trips on the highway. Longest drive was about 110 miles round trip. I take it for ice cream and shows, use it on the weekends mostly with the occasional drive to work. Still things that need tinkering around with if you like doing that. Overall it's good condition but a 15 or 20 footer. I screwed up the paint match and started to think I would paint the whole car but put the brakes on that. It had a 302 in it when I bought it. It runs good and is clean inside. Has a Mercury Marine ID tag on it and it had the correct firing order for fuel injection. Using an A9L that is currently sitting an the trans tunnel. My plan was to make a little console to hide it on the floor rather than mount it up under the dash. A Summit branded fuel pump is external to the tank and is a little loud and the way back is like an echo chamber. Gas tank was patched and sealed. Single flow master exhaust that sounds really good.
Changed trans to an AOD. I believe its an 89. Really helps on the highway.
Floors were done and door bottoms patched. Column shifter works using a B&M cable. Was working on making a lighted shift indicator. The wires hanging on the p-brake handle go to the l.e.d. on the shift colar. TV cable and throttle cable are Lokar
Drivers cowl area repaired. Core support was patched and so was the battery tray and strut rod support. Patched and by me not Chip Foose so not perfect with smoothed out welds. It's a driver.
Looks like it was in a couple little fender benders over its 56yrs. Right front and right rear.
Front suspension rebuilt and brakes were done also. Drums were not replaced in front because I couldn't decide on converting to disc. 2 slightly used drums for the rear will be included. New rear shackles in the box but needs leaf springs. Leafs are worn out. The way back area vinyl/rubberized floor covering needs replacing.
Interior is clean with new carpet but it was not done with the correct wagon carpet. Rear seat looks to be original and the front was recovered before I got it. Retro sound radio in the dash with small amp. Kick panel speakers and hidden speakers under the front seat. Sounds ok but I am really not an audiophile. DVD player on the ceiling.
Contact me and I can give you whatever info you are looking for. Cyclone Hubcaps ARE NOT included. There are extra parts that come with it though, new headliner, windlace, door panels that need to be dyed to be correct, 4 clean painted rims(same wrong color) with '57 Ford hubcaps, new spare tire with correct jack, power rear window setup, grille and headlight doors, and taillights. I have some other pics also or can get what is wanted.
