Good Investment! Strong Runner!
1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT Description
I have an awesome 1978 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT for sale. Odometer shows just under 70,900 miles. No way to know if the odometer has rolled over, but since it's the original engine and it starts/runs perfectly, it may be the original miles. Drives down the road straight and comfortably. 4 wheel drive works perfectly. I would feel comfortable driving this thing anywhere. I recently took it on a trip to Death Valley (around 500 miles round trip) with no issues. The A/C and heater are new, but the fan doesn't blow out the dash vents. Haven't looked into why yet. Although the A/C does not blow through the dash vents, it does work to keep the cab cool, it just doesn't blow in your face, so it takes a while to cool you off.The interior is about a 6 out of 10. The seats are in decent shape, with no tears, but I put a cover on the front bench to better match the interior colors. It's a cheap cover that barely fits, but I wanted to protect the seat. I am including a new ignition switch since the current one doesn't like to stay in accessory mode and requires jiggling to make the connection. I'm also including a new windshield washer pump, since the washers don't work. Not sure if that's the problem, but it's an inexpensive part, so I purchased it. Just haven't taken the time to install it yet. The transfer case has a very small leak that should be addressed. The dash is cracked, but I have a black dash cover that I will install before the purchase. This is a rust free truck! There was a small rust patch (about 2x3") on the bottom of the tailgate, but this was cut out and repaired with fiberglass prior to painting. All the exterior badges were removed by the previous owner, but I have them all and they will be included with the vehicle. I will also include the tailgate trim that is currently not on the truck. This has the somewhat rare rear window sliders and wings that are great for rear seat passengers. The rear interior side panels could use replacing because they are stained, but they are there and complete. The power tailgate window works great, from both the interior switch and the tailgate key. The fuel gauge reads incorrectly, most likely the sending unit. When the gauge reads 1/2, it's getting close to empty. The fuel tank is 33 gallons. The engine needs a couple of minutes to warm up. This is normal for a car of this vintage, but should be mentioned. The windshield has two small chips/cracks that should be addressed soon, before they spread. The Bronco has a lift, but I'm not sure if it's a 4" or 6" lift. It has a very comfortable ride, much more comfortable than I was expecting from a lifted truck and is very comfortable for long distance drives. I just purchased the Bronco in January of this year, but need to fund another toy I just bought. I was hoping to hold on to it for a couple of years since the value of these classic SUVs has been going up in recent years. I'm sure that when the new Bronco is released in 2021, the value of the classic full size Broncos will soar.
