1966 Ford Galaxie 500 7-Litre!

1966 Ford Galaxie 500
7 - LITRE Fastback Hardtop!
Fresh Engine Rebuild - Ready to Enjoy

You are viewing a privately owned 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 7-Litre Fastback!
Classic Cars Online is helping the owner with the presentation and listing of this vehicle.
You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from the private owner.
The current owner has installed a 460 cu. in. engine that was professionally rebuilt. It runs great with only 125 easy break in miles. The body is very solid with no signs of rust or rust repaired. In 1966, Ford introduced the Galaxie "7-Litre" model. It was their top of the line full size vehicle. A one year model designation, the "7-Litre" moniker was reduced to an option package in 1967, and was gone all together by 1968. The 7-Litre model came with standard features such as 428 cid 4V engine, power front disc brakes, and the bucket seat interior from the Galaxie 500 XL models.
Only 11,175 7-Litres were produced in 1966, and of those only 8,705 were fastback hardtops making this one vehicle ultra rare.

Would you buy a car on eBay with four pictures and one paragraph of description? NO.
That is why at Classic Cars Online, our listings will go over and show every area of the vehicle that is up for auction.
Body & Paint: The vehicle has painted before the current owner purchased it. It was painted in a tri color Diamond Pearl White. It shows very well and is in great shape. All the panels are straight and with the correct gaps. The trunk does have a little different shade of color. (Most likely painted at a different time.) Looking at the bottom of the doors, rocker panels, and fender lips, you can see that it is a very solid original rust free car. It does have a factory black vinyl roof that looks great with no problems.
Chrome & Trim: The chrome items on the vehicle all look like they where rechromed at sometime. Very nice. The chrome bumpers are straight and true with no pitting or fading. The factory stainless steel moldings are all present. They look great with only a few small dings here and there. The correct "7-Litre" emblems are still installed and in nice condition. The factory aluminum grille is excellent without any dents, dings, or scratches.
Interior: The interior looks too good to be still original. Parts of the interior may have been replaced at one time. It still has the factory stock look. The black vinyl bucket seats are in great condition. The door panels, dash pad, carpet and headliner are all in pretty nice shape. The factory center console has been fitted with a Quick Silver automatic shifter. It is outfitted with a JVC radio along with other aftermarket gauges and tachometer. The fuel gauge works, but is a little off on the reading.
Engine Compartment: Again, under the hood is a freshly rebuilt 460 cu. in. engine. The compartment is clean and detailed. See the Mechanical section for more details on the power plant.
Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is clean and show ready. Solid with no rust or rust repairs. It is fitted with black carpet. There is a period correct spare tire that looks like it never hit the ground.
Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage: Please view the photos of the undercarriage. From these photos, you will see how clean and rust free this vehicle really is. View the rocker panel seams and floor pans.
Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why we took a few pictures of the bottom.
Glass: All of the factory tinted glass is in excellent condition. The windshield doesn't have any chips, cracks or wiper marks. The side windows roll up and down fine. The drivers side window stops 1 inch short from the top. It may need another window regulator or just an adjustment.
Wheels & Tires: The vehicle has aluminum American Racing wheels. Mounted on the front are 15" B.F. Goodrich G-Force Sport Radial tires. They in excellent condition. The rear tires are P245/60 R15 Cooper Cobra Radial GT. These tires are new.
Mechanical: Engine:
The engine is a 1978 Lincoln 460 cu. in. that has been bored out 60 over. 10:1 Compression. (520 cu. in.) The horsepower rating is in the 625-650 range. Nothing but the best went into this rebuild. Forged pistons, Moly ring set, Lunati hydraulic flat tappet camshaft (306/316), Scorpion roller rockers, balanced Eagle 4.300 stroke crank, Eagle 6.800 connecting rods, Edelbrock aluminum heads, Hi-Rise aluminum intake manifold by Weiand, dual feed Road Demon carburetor, Milodon oil pan, HEI style distributor, Melling performance oil pump.
It was just fresh rebuilt by a well known race engine rebuilder in the Cleveland, Ohio area. It has only 125 easy break in miles on it with no problems. It runs strong and great.
Transmission - Rear End:
Bolted to this power plant is an automatic C6 transmission that was been reworked with a shift kit. Is shifts out great with no problems. The rear end has been upgraded to a Ford 9 inch 3.89:1 gear ratio Detroit locker.
Brakes:
The brakes are in good working condition with a new power booster, and a master cylinder. No problems, leaks, or issuses.
