1966 Ford F-100 F 100 Truck Parts Donor or Easy Rebuild!
1966 Ford F-100 Description
1966 Ford F-100 F 100 Long Bed
This truck was purchased several years ago as a donor parts truck to complete another F-100 project. We chose this truck since it had so many useful body parts and trim pieces. However, my teenage son and I have other projects already underway, and less time to tend to this truck that we had originally hoped.
The bed is in very good condition overall, with only a little rust in the quarter panels as seen in the photos. The bed itself is really solid with no rust holes at the cab end, and wouldn't require much to have in excellent condition. The tail gait and hood are also in good condition, with a few dings that could be repaired quite easily. The condition of this truck is such that it would be a very easy rebuild even for someone new to restoring. We realized after purchasing the truck, that we could just as easily complete this one as the one we had already started on. Thus, we never ended up using it as a donor.
I have not attempted to start the engine, or even put fluids in it, etc., but everything seems to be present as seen in the engine pics. The truck appears to have power steering, good glass, good hood hinges, and comes with many trim pieces. The doors and cab are also in good shape, but the floor boards need to be replaced/repaired as they have rusted through.
The right front end has damage that impacted the fender. Again, not a huge repair, but needs to be corrected. This truck would be a great project that wouldn't take long to have up and looking great.
This '66 was originally delivered from the factory in the Wimbledon White color scheme as it is today. The 1966 Ford lineup includes MANY highly sought after classics including the Fairlane, the Falcon, the Galaxie, the Mustang, the LTD, the Thunderbird, the Mercury Comet, the Lincoln Continental, and the F-100. My son has chosen this particular year for his restore projects due to this amazing line of American car heritage, and the fact that many of these models were dramatically changed in 1967.
According to the limited research we've done, this original LWB truck came from Ontario, Canada in July 1966 as a Ford, not a Mercury like some Canadian trucks. It was an original 6 cylinder with the optional gas tank under the driver's side rear wheel well, which is still in place. The truck is somewhat unusual in that the original Wimbledon White and Yellow combination is shown in the 1966 Ford Truck Shop Manual, but is not included in the Master Parts Catalog. Lastly, this body style was discontinued 1 month after the build of this particular truck in August 1966 to make way for the new line of F-100's built for 1967. Thus, it's one of the last 20,000 or so built with this body.
We have this truck listed for less than we have in it, but need the garage space and would love to see it go to someone who will finish it up.
We have bought and sold multiple vehicles on ebay, and have never experienced any issues with shipping, etc. I am unable to ship the vehicle myself, but am available to assist the buyer or shipper with loading the truck on our end.
