1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Description

Cars like this stunning 1965 Ford Mustang fastback don't happen by accident. It takes planning, vision, and a liquid-cooled credit card to build a car this nice, this fast, and this well-executed. From the gorgeous paint to the rumbling Blue Print 347 V8 under the hood to the Tremec 5-speed transmission, it has been thoroughly restored and taken to the next level in every possible way. There's really no way to make a Mustang fastback look bad,... but wow, the Dark Sapphire Blue paint (borrowed from the Jaguar palatte) on this one looks terrific! Sure, it's a modern hue with metallic and pearl in it, but it works so well on the vintage fastback shape, giving it a clean, chiseled look. And if you're going to attract all this attention, you had better get the sheetmetal underneath right, too, so a lot of effort went into prepping the bodywork. Gaps are even all around, the doors fit beautifully, and they didn't take any liberties with the tidy original shape. The Shelby-inspired details just reek of speed and performance, and the bright chrome bumpers, GT350 Bullet-style side mirrors, 1970 pop-open gas cap, and the trumpeted dual exhaust that exits through the rear valance out back are all pieces that will make Mustang fans smile. The finish is miles deep, and when combined with the fantastic and shiny chrome/brightwork and smoked glass all-around, this Mustang commands an incredible amount of attention. It's just beautiful. The two-tone updated interior has been restored to high standards and shows nary a mark on any of the upholstered surfaces. Look closely, however, and you'll see that the supportive TMI Sport R seats (both front and back) now carry black and white seat covers that have a correct vintage look while adding a custom twist. The original gauge setup has been supplanted by an Eddie Motorsports billet aluminum bezel full of Marshall LED gauges that give a much better look under the hood while paying homage to the original look. The Mota-Lita steering wheel mounted on the Flaming River tilt column feels great in your hands and offers you a better grip than the skinny plastic original, and while the shifter might look like a period piece, it's actually a Steeda Tri-Ax short-shifter linked to a 5-speed Tremec. A Retrosound AM/FM/AUX stereo head unit is in the dash with speakers throughout the passenger compartment, and a TMI one-piece headliner above is a great touch. All the fiberglass inside was media blasted and the repainted to match the two-tone interior, really showing that nothing was left unaddressed during this professional build. Fastbacks are practical muscle cars, and with the fold-down rear seats, the cargo area in this '65 is spacious enough to accommodate most any travel plans. As we mentioned before, the engine powering this 'Stang is a stout 347 cubic inch stroker BluePrint small block that's been Dyno'd at 419HP and still carries a warranty. Built with lots of goodies like aluminum heads and topped with a Holley Sniper EFI system that sits atop an Edelbrock aluminum dual plane intake, it'll handle all the abuse you can dish out. Nicely detailed under the hood, it features black Ford Racing valve covers, an Eddie Motorsports billet air cleaner, a Holley billet distributor, and many other polished and detailed performance pieces that we simply don't have the space to fully list in this space, so give us a call and we'll give you the full rundown. JBA shorty headers feed a 2.5-inch X-pipe dual exhaust that leads into SuperTurbo mufflers with a J-pipe, so the soundtrack for this powerful small block is fantastic. The underside is detailed for show as well, with new parts absolutely everywhere you look, including a fully upgraded suspension and the aforementioned Tremec 5-speed manual that spins a rebuilt 8-inch Detroit Tru-Trac rear end with 3.55 gears inside. Wilwood front disc brakes stop the car on a dime, and the flashy chrome Ridler wheels with fresh 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear performance radials give it a '60s performance look. Fully sorted and finished to a very high-level, this is a resto-mod you can enjoy both on and off the street. Call today!
