Up for sale is a blast from the past, a 1988 F-150 302 5-speed XLT Lariat covered in Hot Rod Black paint set over gray interior. The seller has owned this truck for several years and has logged about 1,600 miles on it during his ownership. The 5-digit mechanical odometer currently shows just over 8,400 miles, but the seller’s records only date back to 2017. The vehicle is sold with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name and a stack of receipts. With too many projects ahead of this truck in the pipeline to modify it as originally intended, the owner has decided to find a new caretaker. Several videos--including a half-hour test-drive--are available for viewingl.
This F-150 is not perfect, but drives well for its age and the A/C even still works. The body and frame are very rust-free and several undercarriage pictures are provided in the gallery. It has 3.08 gears, the factory flat-tappet 302 and M5OD transmission. While not fast, it is fun to drive, the exhaust sounds good, and it gets a lot of attention. This F-150 is sold AS-IS, so bidders should feel free to ask questions and view the youtube videos. Underneath, the seller reports that there is an intermittent coolant drip from the engine crossmember when stored.
Modifications/maintenance performed during the current ownership, mostly in the last year.

Many new parts that replace common problems with these Fords
The bad:
Body has a few dings; paint is 7/10

A few factory gauges do not work, including the rear tank fuel level
Check engine and ABS lights randomly visit

SHIPPING: We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. The winning bidder is welcomed to trailer the truck home.
DRIVE IT HOME: If you plan to buy and drive the F-150 home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially an antique one. We recommend getting to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If the buyer chooses to drive the vehicle home, the buyer accepts all responsibility once it leaves the seller’s garage.
DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE: We have the clean Florida title in hand and will provide the title and a bill of sale signed by the owner. It is the buyer’s responsibility to register and insure the vehicle upon payment and subsequent transfer of title. Florida does not require emissions testing, and many states exempt vehicles 25 years or older. However, it is the buyer's responsibility to check their state/country's laws prior to purchase.
VIN VERIFICATION: We photograph the primary VIN location of a vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.
MILEAGE/CONDITION: The truck may get moved around or test-driven before sale. Slight differences in mileage may result so if it is important to the buyer, please confirm current miles prior to purchase. The seller has tried to cover the obvious and do their best to describe the F-150's condition in detail. Serious bidders have and are scrutinizing the photos. All photos are high-resolution, and there are a lot of photos. They include close-up shots of the body panels, and the walk around video available for viewing provides shots from top to bottom and front to back. The seller has endeavored to present the vehicle accurately and give all the information a bidder might need to help them in their decision process. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure.
