1969 Ford Shelby GT500
If you talk to a car enthusiast about the Ford Mustang, you'll get a few nods of appreciation. When you talk to anyone about the Shelby Mustang, you're going to see some jaws drop and maybe even hear some low whistles. The Mustang is an American icon. The Shelby is an American legend. The Shelby isn't a car people dream about owning - it's a car people dream about seeing in person.
For consignment, a fully restored Shelby Mustang GT500. Born on June 20th, 1969 and now looks and drives like it's still in its infancy of life. This car presents with matching numbers throughout, comes with a Marti Report, and is a Shelby Registry Documented Car. Not originally popular, now highly sought after. This car is one of only 312 made with these paint and trim codes.
Exterior
Grabber Blue with white belt line stripes, a fastback sloping rear deck, mile long sculpted pony hood with 3 inlets and some thumb turns to keep it secure, a wraparound front chrome bumper/grille, and correct Shelby badging (in 1969 the "Cobra" was eliminated). Rear quarter panel air intakes, a small spoiler, 2 long bars of square tail lighting which has a pristine bumper separating the lights from a dual square end centered exhaust outlet. And for some extra giggles throw in S H E L B Y chromed lettering on the top of the trunk. This car became the late 1960's definition of pony car.
Interior
2 black Clarion Knit/Corinthian Vinyl hi back buckets flank a center black vinyl armrest/storage compartment that makes its way up to the dash and has a bit of veneer inserted in it with mirror controls, seat belt holders, an ashtray, and a long shifter with a wood knob. Dual wood veneer inserted into vinyl dash cowls, house a glovebox on the passenger side and the instrument cluster on the driver's side. An original steering wheel with the Shelby logo centered in 3 spokes. In the back is a bench seat with the 2+2 configuration sporting a wide center bolster.
Drivetrain
The sweetest meat is always closest to the bone, and a pop of the hood reveals the 428ci 4V Cobra Jet Ram Air V8. Power is transferred to a 3.50 Traction Loc rear axle via a 4-speed close ratio transmission. It just does not get any better. All restored, all looking great!
Undercarriage
A totally rust-free environment, which shows power front disc brakes, power steering, dual exhaust, and a clean overall look.
