1948 Ford Street Rod Description

1948 Ford Street Rod

The National Hot Rod Association was founded in 1951, to take drag racing off the streets and into controlled environments. As hot rodding became more popular, magazines and associations catering to hot rodders were started, such as the magazine Hot Rod, founded in 1948. The origin of the term "hot rod" is unclear. For example, some claim that the term "hot" refers to the vehicle being stolen. Other origin stories include replacing the engine's camshaft or "rod" with a higher performance version.

For consignment a custom-built hot rod, which is truly an all steel body, has power doors and trunk, the comfort of air conditioning and a custom interior, and a great sound system. A meticulous build with much attention paid to the overall look, which is truly unique. One can hardly take their eyes off this car once you spot it!

Exterior
No lead or body filler for this baby, it's all steel, and the panels fit like a glove. There seem to have been aligned with laser beam, they are so straight and true. Prior to being reassembled, the top was chopped 4", the hood louvered with 90 slots, to give it a more proportional look, all surfaces were shaved of any brite work and badging (including door handles and trunk handle) then the exterior lighting was frenched into the fenders. Spray on the closest blue one can get to Delft China Blue, and throw in a custom tubular stainless horizontal grille, with some simple curved horizontal ribbed bumpers. "Bottom" it off with 4 wide sidewall fatties mounted in chromed 5 bolt steel wheels and you are in eye candy land.

Interior
Nab the closest 1985 Audi Quattro with two tone white and blue seats, tear them out and stuff them into this machine age interior, and you have a very clean looking comfortable passenger seating area, and it complements the Delft Blue of the exterior. Take a slab of aluminum, machine it to fit the dash of a 48 Ford, and insert gauges and a custom sound system, spray Delft Blue around it, and you have a great looking custom interior. Oh, I need to mention flood the floor with deep blue expensive carpet and make the remainder of the interior match those Audi seats. Then you can cruise down Main Street, and be a one car parade, all the while turning heads, and grabbing stares.

Drivetrain
SUPER Charged! 302ci V8 Mustang mill with plenty of chrome and paint the other parts to match the exterior of car, and a pop of the hood will make the sound of BLING!!

Undercarriage
Shiny immaculate black with hints of the Delft Blue, mixed in with red cherry bombs, a free flow exhaust system, and chrome tips...grrrrrrrrowl. A Mustang front end for easy steering, and a Lincoln rear end to handle the torque put out by the Boss 302, and you are going to smell some rubber.
