1974 Ford Club Wagon Econoline 200 E200 passenger van
1974 Ford E-Series Van Club Wagon Custom Description
1974 Ford Club Wagon Custom / E200 passenger van.
NO Reserve
For sale hard to find 1974 Ford Club Wagon (Econoline 200) five person passenger van with a 302V8 automatic, power steering, power brakes, and a sliding door.
This "Custom" van has many nice features but it does not have factory AC. Many vehicles did not have AC from that time period. The chateau is the next higher level and has AC and woodgrain stickers. It is very hard to find a chateau.
I grew up with Ford vans but I never owned a van from the second generation of Ford vans. It is the last of the old school vans. The very next year the vans became more civilized. The front hood was lengthened, there engine cover was smaller, the standard features and options were greater all of which makes this van the best of the old and the new.
This van was had a handicap lift and the seat was further back. The holes are still visible for the handicapped lift. The seats are now behind the two front seats.
The van has less than 95,000 miles. It might be and is most likely original but no documentation.
Bad
Engine has an engine knock at higher speed.
Most likely will need a rebuilt engine. The mechanic replaced the oil hoses to the stock remote oil filter housing. There is some plastic in the hoses that probably got into the oil and created the knock at higher speeds.
Until that moment I did not have a problem with the engine.
Rust around the lower parts. The rockers, corners, and some other lower parts. It is not horrible and good by Virginia / West Virginia standards.
The Good - well maintained and updated over the last couple of years.
Virginia State inspection in August, 2019.

Our family loves driving this van. We take it on errands, to soccer practice, to school, to Cub Scouts, and other activities. It has good brakes, steering, windshield wipers, good heat, and good visibility.
The problem is the engine. This is your chance to have a classic van in good mechanical condition (except the engine) without much money.I love the big steering wheel, level emergency brake, the linear speedometer, the AM radio, V8 motor, the brakes, automatic shifter has a bar that is not covered by the steering column and many other parts.
The van is like stepping back in time and great for anyone. I know once the engine is dealt with the van will be very reliable for a long time.
Not desperate to sell but do not have time to do the work. The engine and some rust repair and it is a top notch van. It is (was) a great driver. As I said earlier we loved using it on the weekends or for errands around our county / town. The kids love it.
No warranty expressed or implied. You bid, you buy, it is yours. This is common sense but needs to be said.
Inspections are welcome.
