1962 Ford F-100 -- Description

This 1962 Ford F100 pickup is just full of surprises. Thoughtfully customized, it is an unusual choice that perhaps has been overlooked for too long, because it looks absolutely awesome! Trick details abound, and with a 302 under the hood and a gorgeous interior with upgrades, it really is like having your cake and eating it too. The best view on this truck is the rear 3/4 shot, which shows off the wedge-shaped body detailing to great... effect. Usually these trucks are refrigerator white or some other non-descript color, so when it's really dressed up, you start to notice just how much effort went into the styling. Dig the flared fenders and the ultra-trick tailgate with recessed handles on the sides and those taillights that are framed by the same flared bodywork that defines the sides. Up close, there are lots of little tricks like shaved emblems, fog lamps integrated into the front bumper, and a custom rear roll pan that incorporates a pair of matching back-up lights. The bed is as well finished as the bodywork, then sanded and polished to look like a million bucks; you're probably done hauling stuff with it, but everyone will be amazed by the quality of the work. Forget utilitarian functionality inside, this F100 now carries a comfortable tan vinyl seat cover on the original bench, and it works quite well with the brilliant paint job. Add some tan carpet and a custom tilt steering column with a 3-spoke wheel and you get something that hardly looks 60 years old. The seat shows minimal wear and the OEM patterns and materials certainly make it look cohesive inside. The original speedometer is still in place, joined by a full set of auxiliary dials under the dash, along with a well-concealed A/C system that blows cold. Entertainment comes via an AM/FM/iPod stereo with speakers, amplifier, and subwoofer all concealed behind the seat. You don't often see pickups finished to this level, and it makes this Ford very easy to live with. The list of new stuff underneath is extensive, and the big one is the built 302 cubic inch V8 which churns out plenty of power to make the F-100 feel downright quick. It's dressed for success with chrome valve covers and Edelbrock air cleaner plus traditional Ford Blue paint on the block. A new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake builds torque, as do the ceramic-coated long-tube headers. A trick HEI ignition system lights it up, and with power steering and power disc brakes, it drives beautifully. It's as nicely finished underneath as up top, with the stock I-beam suspension, a fresh dual exhaust system, and new shocks all around, not to mention the super clean sheetmetal. Handsome aluminum wheels give it some flash and wear 255/65/16 blackwall radials that fill the wheel wells perfectly. There's a ton of money wrapped up in this unusual truck, and given how good it looks, you might expect to see some more early Fords like this running around before too long. Call today!
