1978 Ford F-150 Custom Description

This vehicle works great! I will miss the old truck. I am mobilizing (again) with the military for a long while and the military recommends you sell your vehicle in my situation. In Colorado you can drive it year round because it's generally warm and sunny. (I can mow the lawn more often than not in November and December because of the mild weather; with the exceptionof a few days in winter with snow and hail in the late spring and early summer) Colorado also doesn't use salt like the rust belt. I am originallyfrom Michigan and this truck would be eaten alive because of the salt. The high altitude of Colorado also slows rust way down because of the lack of oxygen.
I believe this is what was known as the "Heavy" 1/2 Ton. Most light 1/2 Tons had a shorter shifter and no granny gear. Start this vehicle in 2nd unless carrying a heavy load just to get the tires moving.
It appears to be 79K original miles based on engine wear and clutch feel (if 179K the engine would probably be leaking like a sieve.) Another tell tale sign is the brake pedal rubber pad. If 79K, you have some rubber left on the brake pedal (where you put your right foot to engage the brake.) If 179K, the brake pedal pad is darn near (or already) worn off with no rubber left.
Dual Rear tanks. Both work and you can switch between the Main and Aux tanks.
Vents in foot wells work great and so do the wing windows (or vent windows) I sure miss those in newer cars. It has a "high output heater."
I didn't have the hood and tailgate shut 100% on some photos, but both work fine and closes with no unusual gaps. Showed in one photo on the grey day the actual tailgate shut properly. Was in my barn where light was dim for hood 100% shut, but they both shut all the way down.
Fly to either Denver or Colorado Springs Colorado after 100% payment and I will either pick you up in my daily driver or drive the truck to either of these airports and you can drive it away. (US Citizen or Canadian Citizen only) If you opt to drive it away, you may mail me a legal temp tag or registered license plate and proof of insurance and I will install license plate and put the proof of insurance in glove box, so she'd be ready to go as soon as you land. Or local pickup. Or you may hire a car carrier to ship it for you. If shipping on train, I'd be willing to drop it off at the local rail head.
It is a 42 Year old vehicle (2020's are out) so it's not perfect, but with about $1500 invested in it (hail damage removed, paint and new trim items) it will be darn close. It has a clean title.
New Radiator
If necessary, I will teach you how to drive this manual so you can enjoy that skill for the rest of your life with your new truck.
It is for sale locally as well, so I may end auction early. I probably have 7-10 cars stop by everyday when it's on sale at the end of my driveway. People stop me all the time at gas stations to talk about it. If you can't strike up a man to man polite conversation at the gas station, it's not the truck, it's you.
$500 deposit within 48 hours on Paypal-Non-refundable. Pay the rest on Paypal within 7 days or mail a cashiers check or money order. See Checkout instructions. It's already sad to me that I am selling this truck, so lets not drag it out and make me re-list it. Once 100% payment is made, I will mail one key and the signed title to you with a USPS tracking number. I will keep one key in case you decide to fly into Denver or Colorado Springs and drive it away or if you get it shipped, we'll be able to get it on the car carrier.
Have a couple of youtube videos of it starting. One after a few days of sitting and one after it just started for about 30 seconds to show how easy it starts.
