1965 Ford F-250 Description

1965 Ford F-250 Flatbed-Factory 352HD V8 motor-Dana 60-HD rear axle with 4.10 gears-Special Order #72 DSO for San Jose,CA- 54 year old California born and raised time capsule-Dual Black California Commercial plates issued in 1964NO RESERVE

Up for bid is beautiful1965 Ford F-250 Flatbed. This truck was built in September of 1964 as one of the earlier production 1965 models. This truck was born and raised in the San Francisco bay area region of California. Beginninglife at the Ford plant in San Jose California then being sold new 50 miles north in Concord,CA. From Concord to Oakland this truck has never left the east bay let alone the bay area as a whole. All new for 1965 was the larger more powerful 352cid v8 motor producing a respectable 172hp at 4000rpms. This truck was ordered with a 352 V8 as well as the optional New Process 435 Synchronized 4 speed manual and the heavy duty Dana/Spicer 60 rear end with 4.10 gears. This truck visually gets set off by the beautiful Rangoon Red with the Red crush vinyl and red wicker pattern . This special order 129” wheel base F 250 was originally built jobs that required a heavy duty truck to get it done. However that never really was the reality for the truck and fortunatly has spent the last several decades apart of a large collection of over 300 classic cars and trucks resideing in the confines on a climate controlled warehouse. This Ford still has the original Black California commercial plates that were issued to this vehicle from the SacramentoDMV 55 years ago.Its pretty rare to see a vehicle that is this old with the original licenseplate let alone both plates let alone a work truck with original commercial plates.

You would be hard pressed to duplicate such an example of a truck that has never ventured more than 40 miles from where it was built over half a century ago.

I am not sure how many original 1965 F250 Flatbeds are stillaround, but will guaranteefew have been stored indoors for decades with this low of miles

Cosmetically the pictures really speak for themselves. This is a very nice truck, the body is straight and free of rust. There are some dings here and there as would be expected of an original 54 year old vehicle. The paint shines and looks great, Red is a great color for this ole Ford. The paint on the flatbedis in great shape as well there are some scratches but its original. The FORD lettering on the rear of the flatbed still have white paint. The wood has stood the test the time and proves that proper indoor storage does wonders for the longevity of a classic flatbed truck.

Step inside the cab, and the beauty of the simplicity takes you back to the fonder times. Whether your sitting in your house or driving your car our lives are inundatedwith devices controlling and notifying us of everything. The direct engagement of the manual gearbox and navigating with a large steering wheel no power steering and 1 large speedometergauge make driving this truck is a therapeuticbreathe of nostalgia. The original cardboard headliner is still in place and looks great. The dash looks great as well as the floor liner All the red paint (therea lot inside) shines and looks good. There is no rust in the floors. The bench seat is perfect with no rips or tears. This is a truck built in 1964 when seat belts were more of a luxury item and not mandatory especiallyin trucks, therefore they do not exist in this truck.

Mechanicallythis truck runs and drives great. The motor is the original 352 V8 and starts up with ease and runs all day until the job is done. The trucks shifts into all gears as well as reverse. When your buying a 54 year old Ford pickup your buying reliable simplicity and this truck is a perfect example of that. The tires should be replace but they do hold air. The lights are all functional both front and rear.
